The American Indian UFO-Starseed Connection

It is generally acknowledged that the myths and legends of nearly all Native Americans have a rich and varied history of an interaction with the “Sky People” or “Star People” in common with one another. In a book recently reissued by Timothy Green Beckley’s Inner Light/Global Communications, entitled “The American Indian UFO-Starseed Connection,” this idea is thoroughly explored by a number of well-known authors, to include the late Brad Steiger, whose numerous books on paranormal subjects have sold many millions of copies.

UFO BELIEVERS AND UNBELIEVERS

One of the Native American sources Steiger spoke to directly for his chapter told him, “I doubt very much if you will find another Indian who will tell you this, but I don’t believe there is any doubt whatsoever that there are Indian people on the face of the Earth who did not originate on this planet.”

But there exists a schism among Native Americans about their true origin. Some of the Hopi, for example, believe in a tribal descent from the UFO occupants and an ancient culture while others favor the more orthodox, anthropological description of their lineage. Meanwhile, a collection of predictions labeled the “Hopi Prophecies” are believed to predict not only that exact schism of spiritual faith but the coming of the UFOs as well in what sounds like a Native American version of the coming apocalypse.

A petroglyph in Arizona is said to show a dome-shaped flying saucer with an arrow on top that represents travel through space. The Hopi maiden on the dome shape represents “purity,” delivering an ominous warning about the future “Purification Day.”

“Those Hopi who survive Purification Day will be taken to other planets,” the Native American source told Steiger. “We, the faithful Hopi, have seen the ships and know they are true. We have watched nearly all our brethren lose faith in the original teachings and go off on their own course.”

ANCIENT ROCK ART FROM THE STARS TELLS THE TALE

There is still much to learn, however, from the faithful of ancient days. Steiger runs through a catalog of petroglyphs, or stone carvings, and pictographs, or stone paintings. Thirty miles northeast of Price, Utah, is the beginning of one of the most unusual canyons in the nation, Nine Mile Canyon.

“Prior to 1100 A.D., the Fremont culture occupied the canyon,” Steiger writes, “and the records they left in the form of petroglyphs and pictographs comprise the heaviest concentration of rock art in the world today. The Fremont people developed their own art style, which, interestingly, was typified by horned, trapezoidal-bodied, human-like ‘anthropomorphs.’ Were these creatures somehow symbolic of nature spirits? Or did they truly represent visitations by beings decidedly different from the Fremont people’s other Amerindian neighbors?”

Another fascinating petroglyph in Nine Mile Canyon consists of a horned person-like figure. To someone of an ancient astronaut bent, the horns may be the sprouting of antennae from a space helmet.

“In this instance,” Steiger writes, “the creature is standing before a row of upraised human hands, which seems to imply awe, reverence or fear. To the human figure’s left, there is a disc-like object. To the disc’s left, there is an upside down human figure faintly etched in the stone.”

In Christina Lake, British Columbia, Canada, one finds a most intriguing pictograph in a natural grotto. The drawing depicts a white disc with black wing-like protuberances hovering over four figures who appear to have bent their knees in an attitude of reverence. Squiggly lines, perhaps suggestive of rays of light, emanate from the top of the object. Longer, more irregular lines extend from the bottom of the disc, possibly portraying smoke or fire.

It is noteworthy that Native American artists – separated by time and thousands of miles – chose to portray not just the appearing of the UFOs but also the awe and reverence with which they as mere mortals had responded to the ships. This is consistent, of course, with similar encounters in the Bible as well as ancient astronaut lore from throughout the world.

MARRIAGES MADE IN THE STARS

As described in their book, “Indian Wisdom And Its Guiding Power,” Brad and Sherry share lunch with the Uros Indians on their remote island. The Uros honor a mandate not to accept any of humankind’s technology in order to have the Sacred Ones they believe they have descended from return for them in the End Times.

Steiger also discusses the correlations between Native American myths and fairy lore from the European continent, including the notion of mortals of both sexes having amorous relations with beings from beyond.

“The legends of Native Americans contain many accounts of Star Wives and Star Husbands,” he writes. “Although there may be individual cultural differences from tribe to tribe, the basic accounts of the Star Husband could be outlined in this way: A young girl sleeping outside the lodge or wigwam is taken away during the night by the Star People. She awakens to find herself in a different world and the bride of a Star Husband.

“Although life is pleasant in Star Land,” Steiger continues, “the girl grows lonesome for her own people. From time to time, she is permitted to look into a hole through which she can see her tribesmen. But if she grows too despondent, she is permitted to return to her tribe, usually after performing a task which seems to her nonsensical. If a child has been produced by their union, it is usually required that she leave her offspring with her Star Husband and his people.”

A MODERN DAY NATIVE AMERICAN EXPERIENCER

In another chapter of “The American Indian UFO-STARSEED Connection,” we read the first person account of “Dennis,” a Native American, and his UFO encounters, some of which he experienced while undergoing a rite of passage to male adulthood. Dennis hails from a section of New Mexico located between the towns of Grants and Raymond.

“I come from a country,” Dennis begins, “that is 7,000 to 10,000 feet above sea level, with ponderosa and high pines. It is known for what we call ‘spook lights.’ They are usually red or blue. We have a lava flow that is undatable. Some archeologists have tried to date it, but they can’t figure out when it erupted. We have a couple of active volcano areas. There are a few areas which cannot be explored because of the terrain. The Indians have many legends about these areas.

“When I was growing up,” he continues, “I remember seeing lights zip across the sky. There have been archeologists in the area. Most of them don’t make it past midnight. Something scares them!”

A RITUAL OF TERROR

Dennis goes on to talk about undergoing the traditional initiation ceremony.

“What happens is, you are taken out to an area blindfolded and left there. You are supposed to stay in that area for 24 to 48 hours, depending on how big of a wimp they think you are. A few don’t make it. The first time I went out, I didn’t make it. The canyon, just below me, lit up as bright as day. Being very young, I decided that running through the cactus at high speed and jumping barbed wire fences would be safer than sticking around. So I went screaming back to the village.”

Strange clouds have often appeared over Second Mesa (AZ) and have been connected with the disappearance of members of various Native American tribes.

When Dennis tried the ritual again a few years later, a similar thing happened. Only this time, when he saw the large lights, he decided to move in closer and explore. By the time he reached the area that had been so illuminated, the light had dimmed and gone away.

Like Steiger’s Native American friend, Dennis also complains of unbelievers in his community.

“The tradition tells of different types of visitations,” he writes. “I grew up with people who believed that if there was a visitation, it was our government causing it. If we had a flying saucer in the area, it had a U.S. Air Force sticker on it. Later on, these people became unsettled by things they had seen out there.”

As an example, Dennis offers the story of the sighting of a pair of red dots that appeared over the horizon as the tribe was conducting their traditional races. The dots looked like they were sitting right on the mountain. Within a few seconds they took off across the sky. On their way across, they did a “few tricks.” Then they went across the horizon and disappeared. The startled witnesses began to pray and meditate, seeking to find out what was going on.

WITCH DOCTORS AND BABIES FROM THE SKY

Dennis had also heard reports of witch doctors who started their walk in New Mexico and all of a sudden showed up in Mexico, traveling two or three thousand miles in a couple of days.

“The witch doctor who did this was old when I was growing up,” Dennis writes, “and he’s still around. I met him and I remember him from the time when I was two or three years old. He still walks through the desert, still makes his meditation runs and his medicine runs. He has some charms that are very unusual.”

Later, as an adult in the military service stationed in California, Dennis again brushed up against the paranormal.

Mt. Shasta.

“Even the Indians that I met in California had legends,” he said. “I got into the Yeti/Bigfoot legends when in I was in the service. I found that many tribes which were up on Mount Shasta all had a joint story. It was about a baby born from a sphere that had fallen from the sky. They [these children] were supposed to be stronger than normal and hairier than normal. They were supposed to have all kinds of abnormal characteristics. They could not speak as we do, yet they communicated among themselves.”

An anthropologist from the Denver Museum visited an area near Dennis’ home in an attempt to investigate and document the region’s strange native legends. The anthropologist set up his camping gear and waited. But at 10:30 P.M., “something” unknown came into the camp that drove both Dennis and the anthropologist out into the unsheltered night. At first, Dennis had warned the visiting scientist to stay close to the fire because only light could protect them from whatever was making its presence felt. Two minutes later the anthropologist was packing up and heading for his jeep. The fear was simply too much for him.

Dennis seems to be speaking of creatures resembling the often-seen small “gray” aliens as the culprit in the above story.

“These creatures are not Bigfoot,” Dennis said. “Their height is about 3’11’ or maybe four feet. I’ve never seen them during the day. I know that they walk on two legs. They are also ambidextrous.”

Dennis said he believes the diminutive creatures love dill pickles. He tried baiting a trap with dill pickles for the creatures but they managed to get the pickles without setting off the trip wires.

THE MAGIC THAT COMES WITH GENUINE CONTACT

Lost Indian Magic

Having established the possibility of an ongoing contact being shared by some Native Americans and the UFO occupants, how has this contact been made manifest in the day-to-day lives of the indigenous earthlings? To answer this question, we turn to another book from Timothy Green Beckley’s Global Communications publishing house called “Lost Indian Magic.”

One learns in “Lost Indian Magic” that the Native American method of contacting the spirits that are believed to rule over their lives is to chant or sing to them. “Lost Indian Magic” includes a song intended to serve as a love charm. The words seem to mean that the man singing the song wants to isolate his beloved from the rest of the world.

“Place her standing up on the earth. Where her feet are now and wherever she may go, let loneliness leave its mark upon her. Let her be marked out for loneliness where she stands. I belong to the Wolf Clan. No one is ever lonely with me. I am handsome. Let her put her soul in the very center of my soul, never to turn away.”

Obviously, it is easier to work a love charm on a lonely woman than one surrounded by competing suitors.

That song is followed by one intended to insure the woman’s constancy.

“This woman’s soul has come to rest at the edge of your body. You are never to let go your hold upon it. Let her never think upon any other place. The woman has put her soul into our hands. We shall never let it go!”

There are similar songs included in “Lost Indian Magic” intended to ensure the faithfulness of one’s spouse. But, interestingly, a song to be sung by a jealous rival is also in the mix. The song is “For Separation of Lovers.” Tobacco is used in this particular ceremony.

“The blue tobacco has come to be your recompense. You have alighted midway between them where they two are standing. You have spoiled their souls immediately. They have at once become separated. Let her eyes in their sockets be forever watching for me. There is no loneliness where my body is.”

The fact that such a song exists for the sake of a jealous rival implies a surprising frankness about human nature. Whatever spirits devised the words seem to be unfazed by a love interest from outside a given marriage. Could it be used as evidence in divorce court?

BIRTH TOTEMS: WHAT’S YOUR SIGN?

The reader may enjoy another aspect of Native American lore called “The Birth Totem.” It springs from the Native American tradition that everything in life is a circle. This understanding of the cosmos resulted from their observation that the sun moves in a circle, from morning to night and then back again to another morning. The waxing and waning of the moon, from full moon to dark moon and back again, is also a circular movement. They also concluded from the changing of the seasons that the Earth itself moved in a circle as well.

They divided the circular year into 12 “moons,” with each moon possessing its own set of animal, mineral and plant totems. Each of these totems possessed certain qualities that could be passed onto people depending upon the moon under which they were born. The 12 birth totems are similar to the 12 signs of the zodiac we are already familiar with.

As with the zodiac, the characteristics listed for each totem are not necessarily the traits that everyone born under that totem possesses. Each person is unique and moves along in their own way and at their own speed. But those born under the same moon tend to share certain broadly defined qualities.

The fun part is finding your own birth totem moon using the handy chart provided. For example, my birthday falls within what is called the “Rest and Cleansing Moon.” My animal totem is the Otter, and my mineral totem is Turquoise. I’m said to be broadminded, lively, unconventional, perceptive, inventive, self-assured, self-reliant, dynamic, friendly and artistic. I sound like a great guy using this totem system, eh?

THE STORY THAT THE MOONS TELL

In the far reaches of the ever-mysterious desert, the Indian campfires of the long ago heard many a tale worth the telling.

“Lost Indian Magic” also provides a listing of sacred herbs to be used in the various ceremonies before it launches into a reprinting of a book from 1918, written by Grace Purdie Moon and Carl Moon, consisting of what the Moons call “A Mystery of the Red Man As He Lived Before the White Men Came.” This long lost and rare book featured paintings and photos by Carl Moon, which Beckley has faithfully reproduced in this newer version.

Surprisingly, for its time, the book is remarkably free of any anthropological bias or prejudice. The authors recount a mystery story that engages the reader from its opening lines and never lets go.

“Out in the region of the sage and the pine,” the Moons write in their Foreword, “in the far reaches of the ever-mysterious desert, the Indian campfires of the long ago heard many a tale worth the telling. Some there were that have been handed down, through the channel of an unwrit tongue, from age to youth – told, retold, and told again until they come to the hearing of even you and me. Thus the ancient tale of the Lost Magic comes to be set down.

“It may be that the legend loses somewhat,” they continue, “in parting with the strange tongue that gave it birth, but the thread on which the crude beads of its adventures are strung runs back even to the first account, and may be of the same spinning.”

The story tells of the protective magic given to the Ah-co tribe by a small bear carved out of turquoise. The artifact is stolen by another tribe who are jealous of the good fortune the bear heaps upon its people. With the bear’s loss comes the inevitable want, woe and disaster for the Ah-co. Seasons pass, but finally the Great Spirit, whose symbol is the sun, goes forth to find the little blue bear and restore it to his people.

Sounds like the kind of story one could envision as a summer blockbuster movie. It’s even a little reminiscent of a “Star Wars” episode with, say, Luke Skywalker going out to do battle for some aspect of the Force while fighting to restore a semblance of moral order to a galaxy far, far away.

In any case, if you’re interested in the ancient astronauts legends of the Native Americans and the spiritual practices intended to obtain the blessings of this powerful alien force, then “The American Indian UFO-Starseed Connection” and “Lost Indian Magic” should be at the top of your reading list. When it comes to contacting the gods of old in today’s world, Timothy Green Beckley’s books often contain just what the spiritual seeker needs in order to reach out and speak to the waiting, ever-patient unknown.

The Miracle of Nikola Tesla’s Purple Energy Plates

When I finished reading the latest Tesla-related book from Timothy Green Beckley’s Inner Light/Global Communications publishing house, entitled “The Miracle of Nikola Tesla’s Purple Energy Plates,” I was reminded of a cartoon in The New Yorker Magazine from several years back.  

The cartoon depicted two scientists gazing at a blackboard with a complicated equation etched in chalk, the kind of exercise in higher mathematics that leaves most laypeople utterly baffled and uncomprehending. Amid the sea of numbers and mathematical symbols are written the words “Then a miracle happens.” One scientist points at the words on the chalkboard and says, “Maybe this step should be a little more specific?”  

Like most New Yorker cartoons, it’s not exactly a knee-slapper, but it still helps to illustrate how one may respond to “The Miracle of Nikola Tesla’s Purple Energy Plates,” authored by Tim R. Swartz and the aforementioned Timothy Green Beckley.  

The titular purple plates combine the two factors illustrated in the New Yorker cartoon – advanced scientific calculations that are kick-started into reality by a miracle.  

 UNDER THE WATCHFUL EYE OF THE FBI

The book opens with some remarks from Swartz, who recounts that after Tesla’s death in 1943 the FBI confiscated all the late scientist’s papers and notes from the hotel room in which he lived out his final impoverished days.  

In recently declassified FBI files, according to Swartz, “There is mention of Ralph Bergstresser a friend of Tesla’s who reported to the FBI his concern that foreign agents may have targeted Tesla to steal his notes and inventions, or possibly even kidnap him.”    

Bergstresser’s relationship with Tesla is important because he is the actual inventor of the purple plates that were a later product of Tesla’s medical experiments in “electro-magnetic healing.”  

The reader will of course recognize that Tesla is the genius who gave us alternating current and a wealth of other vital inventions that we now take for granted. But the new book focuses on just the purple plates and their healing powers, that mysterious blend of technology with the seemingly miraculous. 

The Lost Journals of Nikola Tesla, By Tim R. Swartz

It should perhaps be pointed out that Tim Swartz has long been associated with the life and study of Nikola Tesla. His previous work, “The Lost Journals of Nikola Tesla,” has gone through several editions, been translated into Romanian and has often been quoted, being one of the best sources on Tesla’s outstanding accomplishments and the attempt by many to squelch and steal – particularly upon his death – his valuable contributions to the world. Swartz has been questioned about his findings on numerous podcasts and radio shows, such as Coast to Coast AM. Recently he was interviewed as part of a History Channel mini-series “The Tesla Files.” 

To return to the story of Ralph Bergstresser: He was himself an electrical engineer who met Tesla in 1943 with the idea of the two working together to create some form of weapons technology that would hasten the end of the Second World War.  

“Bergstresser was impressed,” Swartz and Beckley write, “with the knowledge, demeanor and deep, abiding, humanitarian ideals of Tesla.”  

HOW FREE CAN ENERGY BE? 

Tesla imparted to Bergstresser the concept of “Free Energy,” an admittedly ambiguous term which defies any standard or concrete definition and that might not be fully understood with our clumsy 21^st Century knowledge of cosmic laws.  

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe,” Tesla famously said, “think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration. The universe IS energy, and each basic element of the known atomic chart consists of energy at different rates of vibration. The difference between any two elements is the difference in both atomic structure and vibration rates.” 

Tesla believed that, given that the universe at its most basic level consisted of energy, it should be possible to tap into that energy as a power source that could serve all of humanity at no cost. Thus it was to be “Free Energy,” not the money-consuming energies provided by coal, oil and gasoline.  

“With this, the torch of enlightenment had been passed on,” Swartz and Beckley write. “Bergstresser soon blended the futuristic thoughts about frequency and his own expertise to serve humanity and spent the next 20 years of his life committed to breaking through the veil of matter to access free energy.” 

By the early 1960s, Bergstresser felt he had succeeded, in spite of years of ridicule intended to repress his research. He introduced the Tesla purple energy plate to the world. He had chosen an inexpensive medium (specially-treated aluminum) that would act as a transceiver that both drew in and radiated out Universal Life Force Energy, or “Free Energy.” 

WHAT THE PLATES HAVE ACCOMPLISHED

As has been explained by the inventor: The plates have enhanced and benefited anyone or anything that was in close proximity to them. The plate was not charged like a battery, so it could never be discharged. The plates are a beautiful violet color and are a window into the Fourth and Fifth dimensional energy fields. They radiate Life Force Energy (Chi/prana) for a distance of 10 to 18 inches. In no way can these plates be harmful.   

The positive universal energy generated by the plates is said to accelerate the healing of burns, cuts, aches and other troublesome pains. They can also raise a person’s energy level. This is an example of the higher energy used by faith healers down through the eons. The plates create a positive energy around themselves that will penetrate any material substance by osmosis. This energy is said to be beneficial to all life: plant, animal or human.  

The plates are anodized aluminum, meaning they have been coated with a protective film which makes the metal more amenable to the purple coloration. Meanwhile, the color purple is considered the healing ray of the rainbow spectrum. 

These plates will help to raise the vibrational rate of any individual using them. Many people place their food on the large purple plates, when they are still in paper sacks from the market, to keep their food fresher, longer. Some people sleep on these plates by placing them under their mattress to help give them more stamina and vitality and relieve tensions. No medical claims are made or implied. They are said to have benefited those individuals who have placed them on injured areas of the body. A certain heightened degree of hormonal intimacies among couples has also been reported. This would be similar to the energy generated by Wilhelm Reich’s Orgone Accumulator.

Though having none of the same properties, and not working on the same principles, Tesla’s plates have become very popular among those working with the devices known as the Black Box or the Rife Machine.

Indeed, the possible uses for the plates are many. Just carry the small plates in your pocket or purse or near your bedside or front door for harmony, or in your car while out driving to assist in avoiding stress and fatigue. Better yet, wear the discs as a necklace or earrings. You will find many testimonials in the pages of this book given by those individuals who are convinced that the plates, as inspired by Nikola Tesla, have enhanced their all-around well-being.   The book includes a chapter by Dr. Roy Kupsinel, who visited Bergstresser’s purple plates factory and was amazed by what he saw.  

“Orders for these purple energy plates are pouring in from all over the world,” Kupsinel writes in Health Consciousness Magazine. The doctor now declares that he has used the purple plates himself and has recommended them to other people, who are most appreciative.  

The reader may be surprised to learn that Tesla himself was a pioneer in a field of medicine called “Electro-Therapy.” Tesla was one of the first electrical engineers to pay attention to the physiological effects on humans of high frequency, high tension currents. The careful application of electric energy could produce many positive medical results. In fact, Tesla used such a method to treat his own depression.  

But Electro-Therapy soon drew the ire of the pharmaceutical companies and the American Medical Association. The innovative work done by Tesla and others was officially reduced to the level of “quackery” in the West, but during the Cold War years Soviet scientists built on Tesla’s research and practiced their own form of Electro-Therapy successfully.

And so we are left to wonder about the purple energy plates of Tesla and Bergstresser. Are they the perfect marriage of man’s technology and the miraculous healing energies of the universe? Will they actually relieve pain and re-energize the fatigued and the depressed?

I don’t know how many guys can say they had a professional wrestler as a lady friend. It can’t be a hell of a lot but it certainly is an attention getter when the lady just happens to be over six feet tall and you are just five six.

Susanne Miller — AKA Vivian St. John.

Susanne Miller — known to wrestling fans worldwide as Vivian St. John — was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1950 and managed to wander into my life some twenty years later while directing a rather unorthodox occult center than offered psychic readings, seance participation , Ouija board sales and the opportunity to be hypnotized and put into a trance. We had some of the leading lights in the paranormal and UFO worlds lecture for our group (we rented large halls for some of the talks which would garner 200-300 people if properly promoted) and if you were a novice and wanted to expand upon your psychic talents you could join a class on astral projection or Tarot cards.

Our relationship spanned several decades and was certainly “complicated” a term popularized on Face Book. She also was featured at least twice amidst a broken mirror on the cover of the long defunct newsstand magazine “Beyond Reality.” Some people thought Sue or Vivian, pardon me, was a Satanist. She did read cards, did some occult “root work” and offered spiritual counseling. Vivian considered herself a “Luciferian.” She did not sacrifice, she loved animals (even the three dobermens who tried to chew up my arm cause they thought i wanted to snatch the food that had been left in the frig for them). A short definition for those fundamentalist who think Satan is behind anything to do with the occult:

“Luciferianism is a belief system that venerates the essential characteristics that are affixed to Lucifer. The tradition, influenced by Gnosticism, usually reveres Lucifer not as the devil, but as a liberator, a guardian or guiding spirit, or even the true god as opposed to Jehovah.”

Viv worked a lot with Talismanic Manic Magick and symbols, which I would equate with the magi Aleister Crowley’s brand of the esoteric. You’d have to read up on this yourself. One night — perhaps with more than the “average” libation in our systems — Sue decided that I should become a vessel for some unknown (to me at least) spirit and adorned my body with enough magickal symbols to make me an honorary member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. As her daughter once noted: “My mom was a very eccentric person all the way around, however you cut the cake. Nothing really added shock value when it came to her.”

Vivian died several years ago, but I certainly have not forgotten her nor have those she toured professional with while “queen of the ring.” Vivian loved to travel, went off to Japan several times, and had a fondness for grappling for sure. She wore her wrestling boots — which she loved — up till the end when she died of a heart disease which she had been suffering with for a number of years. Her friends stuck to her side even in the depressingly climactic days. There was, Susan “Tex” Green who had been her tag team partner. Leilani Kai, who moved into Vivian’s home for the last months of her life, taking care of her old friend, while she was sadly hooked up to an oxygen tank, confined to her bedroom. Another individual who shared in the care taking was Tatevik Hunanyan, Lelani Kai’s protege whose who antics in the ring can be caught on YouTube recorded while she was entertaining the crowds as a GLOW girl.

Tat shared Vivian’s interest in the paranormal and says that her edgy in ring personification was adapted in part from occult wisdom St. John gave to her.

I don’t believe I ever took seriously the idea that I should enter professional wrestling. I did think of becoming a crazed manager on the outside of the ring akin to the Grand Wizard who in “real life” was an accomplished artist. Sue/Viv had given me a painting of a clown he had painted which I cherished but cant find these days. Truth is, I have enough trouble jumping rope, never mind jumping into the ring over one.

Oh and Walter “Killer Kowalski was a reader of our books. He used to call on the phone to see what was new. He enjoyed Tesla and the Philadelphia Experiment and once sent me a signed copy of his auto biography and a B&W photo which I have on the wall for inspiration. As a side note, the “killer” — known for his specialized “claw hold” — was a vegetarian and a believer in Holistic health.

I did attempt to manage a couple of would be grapplers myself, but they chickened out before I could get them into training. They realized that while wrestling today may be part entertainment, the other half is real enough to kill you. My ideal match between “The Brick,” whom I was going to take to champion stardom, and the Undertaker, is a thing of past and never materialized except in a long forgotten dream.

The following is an article dealing with the time the Ouija Board spoke with clarity to both Vivian and I. No devilish spirits took over. We were not possessed. But we did find out some things that we could not have known otherwise.

THE DAY THE BOARD SPELLED OUT DISASTER

The Ouija Board has always been a controversial means of attempting contact with those in the “spirit world.” Not too long ago it was used as a tool exclusively by mediums and psychics. However in recent years it has become more of a parlor game with sales reaching close to two million according to a leading game company which says the Ouija Board is their hottest selling item.

I have worked the Ouija many times with varying results. Frequently messages are nothing more than what I call “psychic gibberish” with words being mispelled, and phrases and sentences making no sense to anyone. Other times the board reacts positively and spells out things of importance.

Some experts feel that if you treat the board seriously and ask questions of importance you will always be rewarded accordingly. Ask it foolish things and unimportant questions and it will respond thusly. How it works is also open to debate.

There are those who believe the Ouija is a direct telephone line with individuals who have passed on. Others express the idea that what comes through is simply telepathic in nature. As far as I’m concerned there is evidence for both beliefs.

I hadn’t seen Suzanne Miller since the 1970s though one could hardly forget her striking appearance.

Standing all of six feet and dressed in fringe jacket and tight leather pants, Suzanne had a way of attracting attention no matter what the circumstances. I might also point out that Suzanne was no “wimp.” In fact, she carried herself like a biker chick and no doubt this had a lot to do with her subsequent career as a female wrestler and her climb to a top ten position on the lady’s wrestling circuit using the name Vivian St. John.

But the years have cooled Suzanne down – somewhat! Currently, she can be found several days a week doing psychic readings at New Age Books and Things, a well established metaphysical center located at 4401 North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

When I first met Suzanne she was just startling to develop her clairvoyant abilities, a gift that she told me had been handed down from her mother’s side of the family; In her early twenties then, she was dedicated enough in her task that I had no qualms about asking her to work at the New York School of Occult Arts and Sciences which I had founded and where many of the top psychics in the U.S. cut their teeth in the 60s and 70s. Suzanne always felt that her mission was to educate people to the reality of the non material realms she knew to exist all around us, but just out of sight of the majority of folks who closed their minds to this normally invisible universe.

Herbs and oils lined her heavily packed book cases and enlargements of Tarot cards hung on the walls of her west side apartment in Manhattan. After chatting over a glass of wine, Suzanne asked if I was interested in working the Ouija Board with her; something she felt she was becoming very adept at as her psychic abilities continued to grow. As it turned out, she felt certain that the spirits had something to tell her as she-had been ill at ease all day wondering what had happened to her husband who was due back in town the previous evening but hadn’t even called to indicate there was a problem.

After taking the Ouija down and dusting it with powder so that the wooden planchette would move freely should a message start to come through, we moved to the floor with our legs crossed and the board on our knees.

Suzanne was concerned over her husband’s whereabouts as Stanley had told her he would return from a trip upstate by early evening. It was already past 3:00 A.M. and he had not arrived as planned. Because of this she suggested asking the Ouija to give us an idea where he was and if there had been any trouble.

Touching the tips of our fingers to the planchette I selected to begin the questioning by asking if there was “anyone” present. The planchette moved directly to the word “yes.” Under normal conditions the planchette will start to move slowly at first and increase speed as communication becomes stronger. It works akin to adjusting a radio receiver to a particular frequency.

After a few “test” questions devised to make sure our subconscious wasn’t playing tricks we asked the whereabouts of Suzanne’s husband. “He will be in a car accident”- Suzanne’s face turned pale and I could see she was visibly concerned as the board continued to spell out its message. “Don’t worry, Stanley will not be hurt badly.”

After verifying the message (we usually make the “spirit” spell out the communication twice), we asked who we were in contact with and under what conditions he had left this world. The reply came that the spirit had also been in a car accident-but was not as lucky as Stanley would be as he was killed in the crash. “Where” we quizzed and the reply came “not far from Cincinnati, Ohio.” Further probing as to name, address and age (which we 40 could later check for verification) did not get a meaningful response.

Susan thanked whoever it was that had come through and put the board away for the night.

The next day found Suzanne’s husband still not home. To try and quiet her worst fears I attempted to calm her by rationalizing that since they had just moved into a new apartment and since they did not have a phone there was no way he could call to tell her how he had been delayed. I promised to return that night to see if Stanley had come back yet.

When I walked through the door later I saw Stanley alright-but he didn’t look at all well. Right in the middle of his forehead was one of the largest red lumps I have ever seen. “Boy, I’m lucky to be alive.”

I must have really looked shocked as he elaborated.

“I was returning from upstate and this car jumped into the lane in back of me and hit my automobile at 50 miles per hour from behind. The car was totally destroyed and I went forward smashing my head against the windshield.”

An ambulance had rushed him to Tuxedo Memorial Hospital, in Tuxedo, New York where he was admitted in fair condition.

“See,” Suzanne said, erasing any skepticism I still might have about the powers of the Ouija Board, “the spirits don’t lie!” And she was right – this time it hadn’t!

Stanley had verified the message by his very presence and with a lump on his head and the deep cuts on his arms and chest as evidence that an accident had happened and that he was fortunate not to have been killed.

Next Monday morning, I placed a call to Lila,the promotional director for the firm that booked music, particularly rock “n’ roll groups into several theaters in the metropolitan area. When she got on the phone I could sense that the normally high-spirited lady was disturbed over something.

Pressed as to what was irritating her, Lila explained that one of her best friends was killed over the weekend. I told her how sorry I was and asked for more details. “He was driving toward Cincinnati….”

My heart skilled a beat and a cold chill ran up my spine – hadn’t our “spirit” on the board told us he had been killed in Ohio? Could it have possibly been Lila’s friend coming through?

Lila has been a friend for sometime and on occasions I have done psychic readings for her, picking up what I thought might be things important to her. About a month before this incident I called her one night to tell her about an impression I was receiving. I told her that I foresaw trouble in the area of her eyes.

Lila remarked that she had never had difficulties in the vicinity of her eyes but would take note if anything developed.

The next time I saw her, four or five days later, Lila was seated in the box office during a performance I was attending. Her right eye had a patch over it and her brow was a mass of tape and bandages.

“Don’t worry,” she calmed me by extending her hand, “the doctor says the swelling will go away in a few more days. An infection had developed 48 hours after my late night telephone call.

Lila could only shake her head and remark how “right” I had been in what I had seen. Right away this showed me that Lila was an excellent subject to pick up from (for unknown reasons some people are just impossible to “read”) . But why had her friend been able to get through to us so easily?

During a later conversation Lila remarked she would like to meet Suzanne and asked where she lived.

I gave her the address and she just looked at me for a moment. “153,” she nearly shouted after I had given her the apartment building number. “My friend who was killed lived at 151 for more than two years and was sorry he had to leave. It was his favorite apartment.”

As far as I was concerned this clinched it. Lila’s friend had died the night we sat down to use the Ouija Board. The spirit had accurately predicted Stanley’s accident and told us accurately where he had been killed. The fact that Lila’s friend had once been Susan’s neighbor I believe increased the power coming through the Ouija to the two of us operating as receivers.

Not only had this mystical device predicted a disaster but it went a long way in proving to me that communication with another realm is possible.

And as for Suzanne Miller…well, when’s she not knee deep in giving readings at New Age Books and Things or doing private counseling over the phone from her home, she says she still often reflects on the night the Ouija proved to be an accurate device utilized by one dearly departed soul to speak freely to us from the “other side” of life.

Though not a total believer, I have to admit the entire incident left me wondering about the true capabilities of the Ouija Board.
