EXPLORING THE NATIVE AMERICAN UFO—STAR PEOPLE CONNECTION

With A Bit Of Ritualistic Indian Magic Revealed!

By Sean Casteel

*** Read about some of the fascinating petroglyphs and pictographs of the earliest Native Americans, who responded in reverence and awe to the alien presence that created them. The testimony of Native Americans of our own time is equally dramatic and grounded in mysteries still unsolved.

*** There are many divided opinions among the Native Americans of the present day as to how their people were created. Not all believe in the conventional wisdom as taught by anthropologists. Some believe in the UFO-related origin stories handed down for centuries and see those beliefs made all the more real by continued contact experiences happening in the modern world.

*** Once you have made the leap of faith and accept that the alien presence for Native Americans is real, how do you communicate with these otherworldly “gods”? Learn some of the chants, songs and ceremonies used since ancient times to placate and entreat the great spirits.

The American Indian UFO-Starseed Connection

It is generally acknowledged that the myths and legends of nearly all Native Americans have a rich and varied history of an interaction with the “Sky People” or “Star People” in common with one another. In a book recently reissued by Timothy Green Beckley’s Inner Light/Global Communications, entitled “The American Indian UFO-Starseed Connection,” this idea is thoroughly explored by a number of well-known authors, to include the late Brad Steiger, whose numerous books on paranormal subjects have sold many millions of copies.

UFO BELIEVERS AND UNBELIEVERS

One of the Native American sources Steiger spoke to directly for his chapter told him, “I doubt very much if you will find another Indian who will tell you this, but I don’t believe there is any doubt whatsoever that there are Indian people on the face of the Earth who did not originate on this planet.”

But there exists a schism among Native Americans about their true origin. Some of the Hopi, for example, believe in a tribal descent from the UFO occupants and an ancient culture while others favor the more orthodox, anthropological description of their lineage. Meanwhile, a collection of predictions labeled the “Hopi Prophecies” are believed to predict not only that exact schism of spiritual faith but the coming of the UFOs as well in what sounds like a Native American version of the coming apocalypse.native american indian and ufo

A petroglyph in Arizona is said to show a dome-shaped flying saucer with an arrow on top that represents travel through space. The Hopi maiden on the dome shape represents “purity,” delivering an ominous warning about the future “Purification Day.”

“Those Hopi who survive Purification Day will be taken to other planets,” the Native American source told Steiger. “We, the faithful Hopi, have seen the ships and know they are true. We have watched nearly all our brethren lose faith in the original teachings and go off on their own course.”

ANCIENT ROCK ART FROM THE STARS TELLS THE TALE

There is still much to learn, however, from the faithful of ancient days. Steiger runs through a catalog of petroglyphs, or stone carvings, and pictographs, or stone paintings. Thirty miles northeast of Price, Utah, is the beginning of one of the most unusual canyons in the nation, Nine Mile Canyon.

“Prior to 1100 A.D., the Fremont culture occupied the canyon,” Steiger writes, “and the records they left in the form of petroglyphs and pictographs comprise the heaviest concentration of rock art in the world today. The Fremont people developed their own art style, which, interestingly, was typified by horned, trapezoidal-bodied, human-like ‘anthropomorphs.’ Were these creatures somehow symbolic of nature spirits? Or did they truly represent visitations by beings decidedly different from the Fremont people’s other Amerindian neighbors?”

Nine Mile Canyon petroglyph.

Another fascinating petroglyph in Nine Mile Canyon consists of a horned person-like figure. To someone of an ancient astronaut bent, the horns may be the sprouting of antennae from a space helmet.

“In this instance,” Steiger writes, “the creature is standing before a row of upraised human hands, which seems to imply awe, reverence or fear. To the human figure’s left, there is a disc-like object. To the disc’s left, there is an upside down human figure faintly etched in the stone.”

In Christina Lake, British Columbia, Canada, one finds a most intriguing pictograph in a natural grotto. The drawing depicts a white disc with black wing-like protuberances hovering over four figures who appear to have bent their knees in an attitude of reverence. Squiggly lines, perhaps suggestive of rays of light, emanate from the top of the object. Longer, more irregular lines extend from the bottom of the disc, possibly portraying smoke or fire.

It is noteworthy that Native American artists – separated by time and thousands of miles – chose to portray not just the appearing of the UFOs but also the awe and reverence with which they as mere mortals had responded to the ships. This is consistent, of course, with similar encounters in the Bible as well as ancient astronaut lore from throughout the world.

MARRIAGES MADE IN THE STARS

Brad and sherry steiger Indian Wisdom

As described in their book, “Indian Wisdom And Its Guiding Power,” Brad and Sherry share lunch with the Uros Indians on their remote island. The Uros honor a mandate not to accept any of humankind’s technology in order to have the Sacred Ones they believe they have descended from return for them in the End Times.

Steiger also discusses the correlations between Native American myths and fairy lore from the European continent, including the notion of mortals of both sexes having amorous relations with beings from beyond.

“The legends of Native Americans contain many accounts of Star Wives and Star Husbands,” he writes. “Although there may be individual cultural differences from tribe to tribe, the basic accounts of the Star Husband could be outlined in this way: A young girl sleeping outside the lodge or wigwam is taken away during the night by the Star People. She awakens to find herself in a different world and the bride of a Star Husband.

“Although life is pleasant in Star Land,” Steiger continues, “the girl grows lonesome for her own people. From time to time, she is permitted to look into a hole through which she can see her tribesmen. But if she grows too despondent, she is permitted to return to her tribe, usually after performing a task which seems to her nonsensical. If a child has been produced by their union, it is usually required that she leave her offspring with her Star Husband and his people.”

A MODERN DAY NATIVE AMERICAN EXPERIENCER

In another chapter of “The American Indian UFO-STARSEED Connection,” we read the first person account of “Dennis,” a Native American, and his UFO encounters, some of which he experienced while undergoing a rite of passage to male adulthood. Dennis hails from a section of New Mexico located between the towns of Grants and Raymond.

“I come from a country,” Dennis begins, “that is 7,000 to 10,000 feet above sea level, with ponderosa and high pines. It is known for what we call ‘spook lights.’ They are usually red or blue. We have a lava flow that is undatable. Some archeologists have tried to date it, but they can’t figure out when it erupted. We have a couple of active volcano areas. There are a few areas which cannot be explored because of the terrain. The Indians have many legends about these areas.

“When I was growing up,” he continues, “I remember seeing lights zip across the sky. There have been archeologists in the area. Most of them don’t make it past midnight. Something scares them!”

A RITUAL OF TERROR

Dennis goes on to talk about undergoing the traditional initiation ceremony.

“What happens is, you are taken out to an area blindfolded and left there. You are supposed to stay in that area for 24 to 48 hours, depending on how big of a wimp they think you are. A few don’t make it. The first time I went out, I didn’t make it. The canyon, just below me, lit up as bright as day. Being very young, I decided that running through the cactus at high speed and jumping barbed wire fences would be safer than sticking around. So I went screaming back to the village.”

strange cloud over second mesa native american indian

Strange clouds have often appeared over Second Mesa (AZ) and have been connected with the disappearance of members of various Native American tribes.

When Dennis tried the ritual again a few years later, a similar thing happened. Only this time, when he saw the large lights, he decided to move in closer and explore. By the time he reached the area that had been so illuminated, the light had dimmed and gone away.

Like Steiger’s Native American friend, Dennis also complains of unbelievers in his community.

“The tradition tells of different types of visitations,” he writes. “I grew up with people who believed that if there was a visitation, it was our government causing it. If we had a flying saucer in the area, it had a U.S. Air Force sticker on it. Later on, these people became unsettled by things they had seen out there.”

As an example, Dennis offers the story of the sighting of a pair of red dots that appeared over the horizon as the tribe was conducting their traditional races. The dots looked like they were sitting right on the mountain. Within a few seconds they took off across the sky. On their way across, they did a “few tricks.” Then they went across the horizon and disappeared. The startled witnesses began to pray and meditate, seeking to find out what was going on.

WITCH DOCTORS AND BABIES FROM THE SKY

Dennis had also heard reports of witch doctors who started their walk in New Mexico and all of a sudden showed up in Mexico, traveling two or three thousand miles in a couple of days.

“The witch doctor who did this was old when I was growing up,” Dennis writes, “and he’s still around. I met him and I remember him from the time when I was two or three years old. He still walks through the desert, still makes his meditation runs and his medicine runs. He has some charms that are very unusual.”

Later, as an adult in the military service stationed in California, Dennis again brushed up against the paranormal.

mtshasta

Mt. Shasta.

“Even the Indians that I met in California had legends,” he said. “I got into the Yeti/Bigfoot legends when in I was in the service. I found that many tribes which were up on Mount Shasta all had a joint story. It was about a baby born from a sphere that had fallen from the sky. They [these children] were supposed to be stronger than normal and hairier than normal. They were supposed to have all kinds of abnormal characteristics. They could not speak as we do, yet they communicated among themselves.”

An anthropologist from the Denver Museum visited an area near Dennis’ home in an attempt to investigate and document the region’s strange native legends. The anthropologist set up his camping gear and waited. But at 10:30 P.M., “something” unknown came into the camp that drove both Dennis and the anthropologist out into the unsheltered night. At first, Dennis had warned the visiting scientist to stay close to the fire because only light could protect them from whatever was making its presence felt. Two minutes later the anthropologist was packing up and heading for his jeep. The fear was simply too much for him.

Dennis seems to be speaking of creatures resembling the often-seen small “gray” aliens as the culprit in the above story.

“These creatures are not Bigfoot,” Dennis said. “Their height is about 3’11’ or maybe four feet. I’ve never seen them during the day. I know that they walk on two legs. They are also ambidextrous.”

Dennis said he believes the diminutive creatures love dill pickles. He tried baiting a trap with dill pickles for the creatures but they managed to get the pickles without setting off the trip wires.

THE MAGIC THAT COMES WITH GENUINE CONTACT

Lost Indian Magic

Having established the possibility of an ongoing contact being shared by some Native Americans and the UFO occupants, how has this contact been made manifest in the day-to-day lives of the indigenous earthlings? To answer this question, we turn to another book from Timothy Green Beckley’s Global Communications publishing house called “Lost Indian Magic.”

One learns in Lost Indian Magic” that the Native American method of contacting the spirits that are believed to rule over their lives is to chant or sing to them. “Lost Indian Magic” includes a song intended to serve as a love charm. The words seem to mean that the man singing the song wants to isolate his beloved from the rest of the world.

“Place her standing up on the earth. Where her feet are now and wherever she may go, let loneliness leave its mark upon her. Let her be marked out for loneliness where she stands. I belong to the Wolf Clan. No one is ever lonely with me. I am handsome. Let her put her soul in the very center of my soul, never to turn away.”

Obviously, it is easier to work a love charm on a lonely woman than one surrounded by competing suitors.

That song is followed by one intended to insure the woman’s constancy.

“This woman’s soul has come to rest at the edge of your body. You are never to let go your hold upon it. Let her never think upon any other place. The woman has put her soul into our hands. We shall never let it go!”

There are similar songs included inLost Indian Magic” intended to ensure the faithfulness of one’s spouse. But, interestingly, a song to be sung by a jealous rival is also in the mix. The song is “For Separation of Lovers.” Tobacco is used in this particular ceremony.

“The blue tobacco has come to be your recompense. You have alighted midway between them where they two are standing. You have spoiled their souls immediately. They have at once become separated. Let her eyes in their sockets be forever watching for me. There is no loneliness where my body is.”

The fact that such a song exists for the sake of a jealous rival implies a surprising frankness about human nature. Whatever spirits devised the words seem to be unfazed by a love interest from outside a given marriage. Could it be used as evidence in divorce court?

BIRTH TOTEMS: WHAT’S YOUR SIGN?

nativeamericans

The reader may enjoy another aspect of Native American lore called “The Birth Totem.” It springs from the Native American tradition that everything in life is a circle. This understanding of the cosmos resulted from their observation that the sun moves in a circle, from morning to night and then back again to another morning. The waxing and waning of the moon, from full moon to dark moon and back again, is also a circular movement. They also concluded from the changing of the seasons that the Earth itself moved in a circle as well.

They divided the circular year into 12 “moons,” with each moon possessing its own set of animal, mineral and plant totems. Each of these totems possessed certain qualities that could be passed onto people depending upon the moon under which they were born. The 12 birth totems are similar to the 12 signs of the zodiac we are already familiar with.

As with the zodiac, the characteristics listed for each totem are not necessarily the traits that everyone born under that totem possesses. Each person is unique and moves along in their own way and at their own speed. But those born under the same moon tend to share certain broadly defined qualities.

The fun part is finding your own birth totem moon using the handy chart provided. For example, my birthday falls within what is called the “Rest and Cleansing Moon.” My animal totem is the Otter, and my mineral totem is Turquoise. I’m said to be broadminded, lively, unconventional, perceptive, inventive, self-assured, self-reliant, dynamic, friendly and artistic. I sound like a great guy using this totem system, eh?

THE STORY THAT THE MOONS TELL

nativeamericansfire

In the far reaches of the ever-mysterious desert, the Indian campfires of the long ago heard many a tale worth the telling.

Lost Indian Magic” also provides a listing of sacred herbs to be used in the various ceremonies before it launches into a reprinting of a book from 1918, written by Grace Purdie Moon and Carl Moon, consisting of what the Moons call “A Mystery of the Red Man As He Lived Before the White Men Came.” This long lost and rare book featured paintings and photos by Carl Moon, which Beckley has faithfully reproduced in this newer version.

Surprisingly, for its time, the book is remarkably free of any anthropological bias or prejudice. The authors recount a mystery story that engages the reader from its opening lines and never lets go.

“Out in the region of the sage and the pine,” the Moons write in their Foreword, “in the far reaches of the ever-mysterious desert, the Indian campfires of the long ago heard many a tale worth the telling. Some there were that have been handed down, through the channel of an unwrit tongue, from age to youth – told, retold, and told again until they come to the hearing of even you and me. Thus the ancient tale of the Lost Magic comes to be set down.

“It may be that the legend loses somewhat,” they continue, “in parting with the strange tongue that gave it birth, but the thread on which the crude beads of its adventures are strung runs back even to the first account, and may be of the same spinning.”

The story tells of the protective magic given to the Ah-co tribe by a small bear carved out of turquoise. The artifact is stolen by another tribe who are jealous of the good fortune the bear heaps upon its people. With the bear’s loss comes the inevitable want, woe and disaster for the Ah-co. Seasons pass, but finally the Great Spirit, whose symbol is the sun, goes forth to find the little blue bear and restore it to his people.

Sounds like the kind of story one could envision as a summer blockbuster movie. It’s even a little reminiscent of a “Star Wars” episode with, say, Luke Skywalker going out to do battle for some aspect of the Force while fighting to restore a semblance of moral order to a galaxy far, far away.

In any case, if you’re interested in the ancient astronauts legends of the Native Americans and the spiritual practices intended to obtain the blessings of this powerful alien force, then “The American Indian UFO-Starseed Connection” and “Lost Indian Magic” should be at the top of your reading list. When it comes to contacting the gods of old in today’s world, Timothy Green Beckley’s books often contain just what the spiritual seeker needs in order to reach out and speak to the waiting, ever-patient unknown.

UFOLOGY AND THE COLLINS ELITE

By Milton Grover

Authors note: Although the information contained in this article can be applied worldwide, for the sake of brevity I have for the most part concentrated on what has emerged from the USA. Therefore, bearing this in mind I have confined my observations to what is acknowledged by many researchers as being at least within the realms of what is possible, you have to, because one you start to go down this extremely slippery rabbit hole, all sorts of unexpected side avenues open up and some of them are probably best left unexplored.

I am reminded of a saying by the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, ‘Battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you’, the emphasis is mine, and believe me the subject of Ufology is indeed a deep, dark abyss and once you start looking, and I do mean really looking, the psychological fallout can be genuinely unsettling and have terrifying spiritual connections.

A word of warning though, keep in mind some of what follows is derived from fundamentalist thinking and theology, which tends to base its opinions on a fairly unique interpretation of scripture. I would like to express my thanks to Tim Green Beckley and Tim Schwartz from Conspiracy Journal and also John J. Ventre the multi-state director of MUFON, for their help and suggestions in preparing this article. As a final comment, please be aware that I wrote this very recently after coming across a new piece in the UFO jigsaw and I have no views or opinions one way or another on what follows. I have written it based on the information to hand and I have supplied sources that anyone who is interested can follow up and make their own judgment on whether it is valid or not.

Ufology and The Collins Elite

ufos

The “Extraterrestrial Hypothesis” (ETH) theorizes that UFOs are spaceships from other planets with a technology so advanced that it can be indistinguishable from magick.

Since its inception in the 1940’s, modern Ufology has been beset by various ideas and opinions about what UFOs are, where they originate and who (or what) they contain. According to the most commonly accepted belief, UFOs are extraterrestrial spacecraft originating in far-off star systems that visit our planet for a whole host of reasons. Some of the reasons are entirely altruistic and benign and some considerably less so, but at the core of this particular subset of opinion called the extra terrestrial hypothesis (ETH), lies the conviction that all UFOs, irrespective of their point of origin, are nuts and bolts machines piloted by beings that seem to be more or less humanoid in appearance. This is fair enough, but seems to largely ignore many other aspects of the phenomenon. For example: these objects (and their assumed occupants) appear and disappear at will, pass through solid walls, can manifest to individuals in a group yet remain invisible to other group members and a whole host of other attributes that seem to owe more to ghosts and other spiritual beings than anything else.

However, those who subscribe to the ETH claim that this is due to vastly superior technology rather than any paranormal attributes: and that said it is arguable that any display of some aspects of an unfamiliar technology (as the late Arthur C Clarke rightly pointed out) might well be viewed as either paranormal or even magick. On the other hand there are a small number of groups who, as we shall see, insist, rightly or wrongly, that UFOs and their occupants are not physical in any accepted sense at all, but are in fact manifestations of Satan and his minions. The purpose of these UFOs is the ultimate perdition (spiritual ruin) of the human race and those who promote this concept claim that their ideas stem from what they believe is the ultimate source of all truth, i.e. the Holy Bible, which they quote to substantiate their claims.

giganti-caucaz

The book of Enoch describes “The Watchers”, a group of angels sent to Earth to watch over humans. 200 of those angels committed transgression by having sex with humans, creating a hybrid race of giants called the Nephilim.

This also ties into the supposed corruption of the human race eons ago by fallen angels (more ET’s perhaps)? as mentioned in Genesis 6:4; Jude 1:6 and then progresses into the future and the endtimes. Once we go down this route we encounter a race of ancient hybrids, i.e. the ‘Nephilim’ who were allegedly the mutant offspring of human women and the fallen angels. It is thought that these are the giants mentioned in the bible. This is the mindset that also readily embraces concepts such as the machinations of the New World Order (NWO) and the Illuminati, as with the UFO phenomenon in general it is open season for any idea one wishes to attach to it.

In addition there is an even less well known schism of belief from a similar source, saying that UFOs, while still spiritual, are created and crewed by angels, so you pretty much pays your money and takes your choice. From this it is obvious that, while UFOs and Ufology may be relatively marginalised belief systems, there is sufficient scope within them for various strands of belief to grow and develop. I say this because based on what we have just seen; some years ago I was in conversation (via a medium) with an entity that claimed to be extraterrestrial and said it came from where, quote, ‘souls were created’.

There is not a great deal one can say to that, except that having worked with this particular medium during many investigations I had faith in her abilities; so despite some reservations far be it for me to pass judgment. Besides, there is always the nagging doubt that this entity, whatever it was, was not necessarily telling the truth and this is something that has previously been commented on by other serious and open-minded UFO researchers. I say this because within the UFO community there is a surprisingly high level of intolerance to any thoughts or opinions that fail to stay within the narrow ETH mindset.

The Intelligence Agenda

pentagon investigates UFOs

Starting in 2008, the Pentagon quietly set up a $22 million program to investigate reports of UFOs.

Although officially denied, ridiculed and rejected by most governments and intelligence agencies, this ridicule conceals a very deep rooted concern that UFOs and what they represent may in fact have more basis in reality than they care to admit. This has been seen in the various governmental attempts to prove or disprove the phenomena one way or another, especially in the USA. In the USA, projects like ‘Grudge’ and ‘Blue Book’, the formation of the Robertson Panel and the Condon Report etc, etc are all examples of this and it has been argued that what emerged from these groups was nothing more than propaganda using disinformation, misinformation, spin and barefaced lies. Even the much vaunted book, the so-called ‘smoking gun’, i.e. The Day After Roswell, is a prime example of this bare-faced subterfuge. Government files on the UFO enigma continue to surface, one of the more recent examples was the release of formerly classified information from the UK intelligence services in the Ministry of Defence (MOD), but nowhere in the files is there any evidence that they are extraterrestrial. Even stonewall cases like the Rendlesham Forest incident of the 1980’s despite the witness evidence being pretty much positive and overwhelming are brushed off using varying specious excuses.

All that these reports were able to say was, officially at least and despite the fact that the intelligence agencies regularly used Ufology as a screen to conceal their own agendas, there was no truth in any of it and the UFO phenomenon lay entirely in the minds of the general public. It was founded on little more than overactive imaginations and mistaken identity compounded with a desire for some mystery and intrigue. It is possible that some of this subterfuge might have stemmed from a real fear that to admit that we really were visited by non-human races originating outside our solar system might create widespread fear, panic and civil disorder. It is also likely to have caused many people to question the authority and moral certainty of the churches, something that would serve to further exacerbate an increasingly unstable situation.

The Collins Elite Emerges

However, despite the artifice and denials there is the nagging suspicion that their investigations revealed that at least some UFOs might be genuine and this knowledge could somehow be harnessed for military advantage. This is probably true, because given the ultra-pragmatic way in which intelligence agencies operate (especially the CIA), obtaining anything they think will be of use to their country militarily becomes imperative, so how and where they obtain this information is secondary to the methods used; i.e. the end invariably justifies the means. Since any information would have to be properly evaluated, monitored and thought through in a dispassionate manner, a steering group was formed comprising representatives of all interested parties.

In the USA, since all branches of the military plus the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) were obviously involved anyway, it was a relatively simple matter to draft in representatives under the stewardship of, initially, the FBI then the omnipresent CIA and eventually perhaps the NSA as well. This semi-official subgroup which was created in July 1952 allegedly became nicknamed by those involved, ‘The Collins Elite’. Although it starting out evaluating the threat of UFOs as one based on actual machines, given the makeup and views held by some influential members of this group, this changed dramatically and the first question to ask is how much truth is in what they said and could the CIA have accepted this and allowed it to develop?

Attitudes Harden

According to a book, Final Events, written by author and researcher Nick Redfern, a British citizen currently residing in the USA, the answer is yes, they could. For many years the CIA was not only out of control, it was beyond control and functioned more or less autonomously as a separate government that was a law entirely unto itself, something greatly helped by its lavish and often unaccountable funding. Even their notional boss, the President of the USA, had no idea what was going on and given some of the shady and frequently murderous operations they instigated and sometimes funded, this was probably just as well; it is a process called ‘plausible deniability’, a term first used by the CIA during the Kennedy administration. Regarding the way in which the CIA operated, it has been stated that when Area 51 was first created it was handed to the CIA to operate rather than the Navy or the Air Force and in 1958 the then President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who had made the mistake of allowing the base to function without Presidential oversight, was flatly denied both access to the base and information regarding what was going on there. In retaliation the President promptly threatened to send in an army group from Colorado to dismantle the place. In response to this tactic he was grudgingly given the information he requested, but he never did wrest control of the base back from the CIA.

ufowomen

It has been suggested that the UFO phenomena could be supernatural and/or demonic instead of nuts and bolts spaceships from other planets.

Redfern goes on to state that the findings of the Collins Elite strongly infer that the ET presence was not just the result of visits by nuts and bolts flying machines and their occupants, instead it was probably demonic/satanic nature instead. In fact it went as far as say categorically that there was never any contact between extraterrestrials and humans, it has always been supernatural and/or demonic. We should remember that this covert unit, although it started out with a fairly specific remit, rapidly became increasingly influenced by some of its more single-minded members who may themselves have been implementing an agenda directed from outside the group.

Strangely enough this opinion chimes with comments made by the late ethno-botanist and psychonaught Dr. Terence McKenna, who once said that, ‘We are part of a symbiotic relationship with something which disguises itself as an extra-terrestrial invasion so as not to alarm us.’ He never did elaborate on what he meant by that, but it probably refers to the entities, sometimes called ‘machine-elves’ frequently seen by people who use substances like dimethyltryptamine (DMT) the active ingredient of the traditional and powerful hallucinogen Ayahuasca. This would certainly fit with the observations made by members of The Collins Elite and this kind of thinking is surprisingly common in some areas of the UFO community who see the phenomenon as more akin to the occult that anything physical.

It is a view also shared by members of the fundamentalist Christian right-wing of American politics and in some cases they have claimed that UFOs were piloted, not by demons, but by angels as an adjunct to the much prophesied ‘end times’. However, the astute observation made by Dr McKenna fits exactly with a statement allegedly made by The Collins Elite to the effect that, “We have in our midst a cold-hearted and sinister intelligence of demonic origins that masquerades as alien.” Although the wording is slightly different, the meaning is identical. Before we examine The Collins Elite in a little more detail, we should consider some of the background and this involves looking at other, less well-known projects undertaken by the CIA and the other US intelligence agencies.

As well as investigating the possibility that the earth was being visited more or less at will by non-human entities, they were also extremely interested in highly controversial occult experiments being carried out by an pioneering rocket scientist and co-founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Jack Parsons and Ron Hubbard in the days before Hubbard decided to make money by inventing the cultish quasi-religion of Scientology. Hubbard spent the last years of his life on the run, keeping the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) off his back. The IRS wanted the tax due on the money in the Scientology bank accounts. However Hubbard, who considered his creation a religion, would not pay it. Eventually the Scientologists, after the death of Hubbard and now being run by David Miscavige, managed to effectively blackmail the IRS into granting them religious status allowing them to avoid paying tax.

The Connection with Magick

Ahnenerbe

The Ahnenerbe Symbol.

In a way this unlikely connection between the military and magick is not all that surprising and resonates with claims made a couple of decades earlier about the Nazi High Command during the Second World War and the possibility that they too were involved in magical rituals based on esoteric research into the origins of the Aryan race conducted by covert, quasi-scientific groups like the Ahnenerbe, which was founded in 1935 by SS chief Heinrich Himmler and others. Whether or not any of this information was used as part of the Nazi master-plan for victory in WWII is open to debate, but there is no doubt that Himmler et all did have some really bizarre ideas about how this knowledge might be ‘weaponised’.

This ties into similar claims made in the book, The Spear of Destiny by Trevor Ravenscroft, an extremely controversial publication first released in 1972, that the lance that pierced the side of Christ on the cross in St John’s account of the crucifixion, was eventually appropriated by Adolph Hitler in an attempt to use its supposed immense latent power using some unspecified method, in his plan for world domination. It may be that given the reputation of the spear just having it in his possession might enable his scheme, however according to the legend losing the spear resulted in the death of whoever had it, something that seems to have been fulfilled when Hitler finally shot himself in the head with a pistol.

lam

Under the influence of both mescaline and hashish, Aleister Crowley conducted an ancient ritual and encountered a creature that called itself Lam.

In the case of the aforementioned Parsons and Hubbard, in 1946/47 they attempted to create a magickal dimensional portal to allow a divine feminine archetype, in fact the goddess Babylon, access to our reality. Other opinions hold that it was not any goddess, but some kind of demonic child. They did this using the ‘Babalon Working’, which was a variation on a ritual that had been attempted nearly fifty years previously by the noted late Victorian British occultist and eccentric Aleister Crowley, when he used a ritual called the Alamantra Working. It may be relevant that Crowley manifested an entity he called ‘Lam’ while undertaking this project (he drew a picture of it) and there is no question that Lam looks remarkably like an alien ‘Grey’ and it was after this that these (and other) beings started to be seen on a regular basis when alleged contact with ET’s took place.

Crowley was well aware of what the two men were attempting and warned Parsons about his deep mistrust of Hubbard and his motives; something that proved remarkably prescient when Hubbard absconded shortly after with a large sum of cash taken from the bank account he shared with Parsons, plus Parson’s current mistress in tow. Unsurprisingly, Scientologists fail to find room to mention any of this in their sickly hagiographies of Hubbard. In fact Crowley had a great fondness for Parsons, who he regarded as a kind of standard-bearer of his brand of magick, it would be closer to the truth to say that he thought of Jack Parsons as the son he never had. In a strange example of possible synchronicity, Parsons died at home in 1952 when a mysterious explosion in his garage ended his life. It has been suggested that the explosion was due to his experiments with highly volatile chemicals involved in making rocket fuel, (this was after all what he did for a living) either that or, as has also been implied, he was trying to create a ‘homunculus’ or artificial being and his experiments went badly wrong, either way he died.

Is Any of This Feasible?

Again we should pause to consider whether or not any of this is feasible, because if fractures in the nature of reality can be brought about by the use of words, symbols and rituals, this may find a resonance with the arcane symbols and formulae used by quantum physicists in the present day. Examples of this can be found in the laboratories where such strange, albeit cutting edge experiments are carried out, because it has been found that what the participants in these experiments think about what is being attempted can directly affect the outcome. It’s called the ‘observer effect’ and much to the chagrin of the hard-line rationalists it is proven to occur and there is no obvious answer why, or at least not one that they find acceptable.

This by any measure indicates that the ‘observer effect’ is a form of magick, the very thing that physicists would reject out of hand, but how else to explain it? Actually Aleister Crowley seems to have summed this up pretty well several decades earlier when he defined magick as “The Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will”, in effect the ability to edit reality. Once again it seems surprising that the intelligence agencies should involve themselves in such arcane practices, because one would imagine that as the hard headed realists they have to be they would dismiss this as sheer fantasy, but not so.

thumbnail_aliens-in-time-and-space-maria

Is it possible that factions within military and intelligence agencies were/are involved with occult and magical practices that contacted entities from beyond this reality?

One can easily cite the ‘Stargate Project’ which involved, among other things, remote viewing and other psychically inspired attempts to gain an advantage over a perceived enemy as examples of the lengths they will go to. However, it is at this point we find ourselves slipping into other parallel claims of mind-bending experiments allegedly conducted at places like Montauk and we have to be careful before dismissing this as sheer conjecture and nonsense, if, for no other reason than there was a military base at Montauk and its remains are still to there to this day and, some people say, also the unintentional remnants and residue of the experiments supposedly conducted there. These experiments seem to interlink closely with certain occult and magical practices involving time-travel amongst other claims and contact with entities that did not originate in this reality. So, how does the Collins Elite tie into this?

If we consider that this group was set up to see if any military advantage could be gleaned from contact with extraterrestrials and came to the conclusion that these entities were not ET but demonic, we can also assume that they were prepared to do whatever it took to make this work. Among the projects bordering on the magickal being undertaken was the development of such devices as ‘psychotronic weapons’, which could allow the remote influencing of how individuals operate and think, plus a range of other technologies that at first sight seem impossible. By our standards they are and that includes various spin-offs from work already being conducted on other types of electromagnetic weapons, but once you enter into the dark world of magick then literally anything becomes possible. As an adjunct to this, there was another sinister CIA funded mind control project called MK-OFTEN (an adjunct to the better known and equally notorious MK-ULTRA). For MK-OFTEN, the CIA employed the services of Satanists, witches, psychics and other occultists as part of their efforts in MK-ULTRA at establishing a reliable and effective method of mind control. This being the case then it is entirely feasible that they would plumb any depths in their search for a military advantage.

The Vatican

vaticanandufos

The Catholic church has been pondering over whether there are more technologically and intellectually advanced sentient beings elsewhere in the universe.

As if this was not enough, there are claims by Catholic researchers that the Vatican has, or at least had, plans afoot to prepare its flock for the arrival of an extraterrestrial saviour, which seems to resonate with the idea that Jesus was an ET. Again we have this odd, synchronistic link between aliens and angels and the notion that the human race is the result of extraterrestrial DNA splicing. It seems logical that an organisation as powerful and influential as the Vatican must have some sort of plan in place to deal with the possibility that if there is life on other planets and that life has no concept of a creator God, what happens then? It has been seriously mooted by the Curia that in that case it is the duty of the Church to make them aware of God and bring them salvation: good luck with that. Again, much of this, although it may have elements of fact, is also based on hearsay. It’s rather like the so-called ‘evidence’ for the reality of UFOs and especially secret underground bases that comes from ‘high ranking’, but almost always unnamed service personnel who dare not reveal their identities for fear of deadly reprisals.

This evidence might as well not be quoted for it cannot be checked; in truth it is evidence of nothing except speculation, but for now that will have to do. However it is a fact that Pope John Paul on the 23rd of October, 1996, while speaking to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences plenary session at the Vatican, stated that Darwin’s Theory of Evolution was a reality and in doing so reduced the biblical accounts of how we got here to nothing more than myth. How this will play out in the years to come will remain to be seen, but as a word of caution; according to the prophecies of the Irish St Malachi the Pope coming after Pope Benedict i.e. Pope Francis, will be the last one and what comes after that is anyone’s guess, but according to Malachi it is the ‘end times’…again!

From what we have seen it may be likely that the Collins Elite is real and still exists and their task was to monitor any attempts at making contact with whatever exists on the other side of reality, be it extraterrestrial, ultra-dimensional, supernatural or whatever form it takes. If that is the case then they would have been extremely interested in what the likes of Jack Parsons and Ron Hubbard (and others) were trying to do. As already stated, it would have mattered naught where this information came from or how it was obtained, as long as they could harness and make effective use of it. One of the papers purportedly coming from this group was entitled ‘Deception and UFOs: What we Believe and Why’ emerged in 1998 and in it there is a distillation of their findings since their inception in 1952. What is basically says is that the earth is being prepared for Armageddon and that human beings are little more that containers for souls that can be harvested in the service of Satan. The only way to salvation is, apparently, to embrace Christ as your redeemer and all will be well.

One of the strangest aspects of what came under their oversight was the possibility that a project was underway driven by these non-humans to create hybrids of humans and aliens to serve the antichrist and Satan during the endtimes, the time of Armageddon in fact. Never forget that fundamentalist Christians we encountered earlier fully believe this, along with the ‘rapture’, can and will happen and even the ultra-rational realm of science has its fair share of them. So yes, the Collins Elite probably are real, and seem to be still in existence, for in the murky world of intelligence gathering anything that works, however distasteful can and will be used, although this knowledge is seldom on public display; it is how ‘black projects’ work. Time as always will tell.

HITLER AND THE SUPERNATURAL

UFOs, DEMONS AND SECRET SOCIETIES IN NAZI GERMANY

By Sean Casteel

*** Did the Allies really achieve a final victory in World War II? What if the lingering traces of the Nazis’ collective madness lives on in the form of hidden technology operated by people still sympathetic to and held in the thrall of the murderous undergirding of the Third Reich?

*** It is still a debatable question: Were the Nazis simply maniacs bent on conquering the world? Or were they the chosen instruments of a demonic rebellion against God and his Chosen People, the Jews? Were we dealing with a merely human enemy or something genuinely supernatural and paranormal?

*** Many secrets of time and space may have been revealed to the Nazis by demons transmitting their dark instructions to the beauteous female blondes of the German occult group the Vril. Was the group chosen to candy-coat the coming Deutsche monsters and their high technology of death and misery? Or were they simply unknowing conduits channeling information from a far-off world they knew nothing about? And could it be that the Ultra-terrestrials residing on this distant world were equally unable to comprehend who they were dealing with?

*** It is often said that, basically, channeled information is neutral, just like occult powers. It’s a matter of how you interpret and what you actually do with the information you are giving or receiving. Where does that understanding fit in the story of the Third Reich and their paranormal ambitions?

*******

51vi4iJ0X8LIN his introduction to “Occult Secrets of the Third Reich,” Timothy Green Beckley opens by asking if World War II will ever really be over.

“Everyone knows that the Allies were victorious over the Axis powers,” Beckley writes. “The U.S. and Great Britain formed an alliance with troops from all over the world to defeat a godless foe who would lay waste to a major part of Europe and leave millions of dead in its wake. Furthermore, it tried to exterminate the whole of European Jewry because the Jews did not live up to the Nazis’ racially ‘superior’ belief system.

“Hitler is considered to have been one of the most evil individuals who ever walked among us,” Beckley continues. “Some see him as the spawn of Satan himself, someone who tapped into an energy so dark and heinous as to defy human expression.”

AN ERUPTION OF DEMONISM INTO HISTORY

hitler spear

Teodoro Rampale says that some historians see Hitler as uniquely evil, wicked beyond even the human capacity for wickedness.

Beckley is not alone in grappling to define the Nazis and their wicked workings in the world. One of the contributing authors to “Occult Secrets of the Third Reich” is Teodoro Rampale, who writes, “Some serious orthodox historians place Hitler outside the spectrum of human behavior – a spectrum that includes the most barbarous of crimes. Hitler is seen by them as uniquely evil, wicked beyond even the human capacity for wickedness. Others, who are inclined to accept the reality of a cosmic evil originating beyond humanity, in some outer darkness eternally forsaken by God, see Hitler and the Nazis as examples of how, given the right circumstances, this Darkness can enter humanity, an ‘eruption of demonism into history.’”

However, Rampale warns, the demonic can easily be confused with insanity.

“One shudders to think,” he writes, “of the number of unfortunates throughout history whose madness was mistaken by their fellows for possession by the forces of Darkness. We can see that the origins of National Socialism can be traced back to volkisch occultists who believed wholeheartedly not only in the existence of a prehistoric Germanic race of super-humans but also that their very superiority had been transmitted through the ages to modern Germans by means of a magically active, pure Aryan blood.”

USING HISTORY AS A WEAPON OF WAR

Which leads us to Olav Phillips and his chapter, “Hitler’s Occult Warrior Monks: The Ahnenerbe,” in which he also discusses history, the art of persuasion and their entanglement with occult beliefs.

“History, as we know it,” Phillips writes, “is a pervasively malleable thing, and, has time has shown us, history has often been used as an ideological tool to support a philosophical or political agenda. World history is rife with examples of historical tampering, such as the near deletion of World War II Japanese aggression in modern Japanese text books, or the downplaying of our own aggression, such as the bombing of Dresden or the use of nuclear devices in combat.”

Phillips writes that we can also add to that list other American atrocities, like the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiments or the government’s experiments with LSD as an interrogation tool.

“But perhaps the most interesting and sinister use of revisionism,” according to Phillips, “belongs to the Warrior Historians of the Third Reich, the Ahnenerbe.”

Ahnenerbe

The Ahnenerbe Symbol.

One more often thinks of a historian as a sort of academic and scholarly fellow who labors quietly at his desk and seeks to gain tenure at his university. But the Nazis were in fact using historians to wage an ideological war mainly in terms of the beliefs of the German people themselves. The leader of the fledgling Schutzstaffel, or SS, Heinrich Himmler, working in concert with other Nazi officials, would create and nurture a mythology that would galvanize the German people behind the sinister beliefs of the upper tier of the Nazi organization.

It was necessary, for use as a recruitment tool for one thing, to demonstrate historical precedent for the Nazis’ claims. It was a precedent, Phillips tells us, derived from theosophy and the deeply occult advisors to the German leaders of the time.

An example of the revisionism that came later is seen in Leni Rienfenstahl’s Nazi epic film, “Triumph of the Will,” which portrayed the SS as knights riding into the Nuremberg rally on horseback, sporting chainmail armor and shields displaying the swastika. Banners flutter in the wind as the “volk,” or German people, stand beside these modern Nazi knights. It was an image that forever reinforced the vision of the SS as the knights of the Third Reich.

The attempt to rewrite history in the Nazis’ favor extended to their racism agenda as well, and also required historical precedent and research – the task of the warrior historians. Meanwhile, the Nazi leadership felt it was crucial to collect religious artifacts, such as the Spear of Destiny, which was said to be the exact relic that was used to pierce the side of Christ as he hung dying on the cross. Owning a piece of Christ’s misery made Hitler feel empowered to fulfill the prophecies of the antichrist in the Book of Revelation and in certain quatrains by Nostradamus.

Phillips explains all this in fascinating detail in “Occult Secrets of the Third Reich,” and one learns that Nazi historians did indeed wage a war of deception and take hold of the very thought processes of the German people. The Nazis’ ability to penetrate the consciousness of the “volk” continues to be a mystery.

Returning to the work of Teodoro Rampale, we are told, “Given that human beings have always been fascinated with the occult and the supernatural, precisely because they promise so much in offering the prospect of a higher meaning to the vagaries of existence, and given also our quest for an answer to the problem of evil, it is only to be expected that many should seek to explain Nazism in terms that transcend the merely human.”

DID THE NAZIS GET HELP FROM THOSE WHO “TRANSCEND THE MERELY HUMAN”?

NaziGermanHaunebu nazi propulsion

It has been suggested that the Nazis’ developed a working wingless flying saucer-type craft.

Along with their efforts to rewrite history and dupe their own populace, the Nazis were also waging a technological war behind the scenes. They are said to have developed a working wingless flying saucer-type craft with the help of nonhuman entities that would ensure their victory over the Allies.

“But beyond the mere ability to fly what may still seem like technologically ‘miraculous’ aircraft,” Beckley tells us, “is the haunting, troublesome possibility that the ships also function as time machines, bringing the ability to travel in time within human reach for the first time in recorded history. Devices like Die Glocke (translated as ‘The Bell’) may have been used to bend both space and time and give the Nazis the unthinkable power to explore the past freely and even to CONTROL THE FUTURE. Are we plummeting headlong toward a world under fascist domination – a nightmare in which grinning, sadistic, jackbooted thugs are waiting for us to ‘catch up’ in time with our own predestined subjugation to open worldwide rule by the Nazis, who are possibly hiding out on the surface of the moon or in ‘secret cities’ at the Poles? Do they lie in wait for us as the clock on our freedom runs down?”

The concept is a little tricky, but it involves the idea that the Nazis were able to move into the future and exert total control once they got there. That concept does, of course, sound “fringe” on the surface. But, according to Beckley, we should not assume that the Nazis acted alone in achieving such a feat. They obviously had help from some other “source.” Their contact with distant ETs that they took to be their counterpart – a race of “Aryan Space Brothers” – might have been a major factor in the Nazis’ development of a “secret space program,” which could still be functioning in the world today.

It may also be that these Aryan ETs seized an opportunity to use the fledgling Nazis to their own otherworldly ends. In other words, the aliens made building a time machine simple enough that mere humans, once properly instructed and provided with the raw materials, could accomplish the task sufficiently well in real-world terms.

What their motives were is open to dispute and debate. Some see the Aryan “Space Brothers” as friendly visitors from the future, while others wonder why they would want to share their secrets with a very negative group of earthbound scientists. Perhaps the Space Brothers   were deceived by the attractive, similar-looking blonde and blue-eyed mediums of the Vril, who they thought they may have been related to. Or they could have simply lacked the information required to see their channels’ coming evil before sharing their technology.

nazi vril channel with long hair

The female mediums of the Vril Society were referred to as true “Nordic beauties.”

The history of Adolph Hitler and the Nazis has always included elements of their occult beliefs, but one needs to go back further in time, to the early 20th century, and the mediums associated with the Vril Society. The female mediums, referred to as true “Nordic beauties,” began to channel messages from extraterrestrials whose origin was many light years away. The messages included the technical designs of advanced aircraft unheard of in their day in addition to a kind of “blueprint” for a time machine. Some years later, Hitler himself, along with several of his SS henchmen, came under the influence of the Vril Society as he began his rise to power in a Germany that was sick enough and corrupt enough to be mesmerized by his unchecked anti-Semitism and militaristic obsessions.

When combined with the high caliber of scientists the Nazis “recruited” to design weapons for the war effort, which included now-legendary names like Wernher von Braun and Hermann Oberth, the fact that they had alien “help” along the way makes some of their more exotic advances a little more plausible.

In fact, the scientists themselves talked openly about this alien help.

“We cannot take credit for our record advancements in certain scientific fields alone; we have been helped by the people of other worlds . . . We should think of the craft in the New Mexico desert as more of a time machine than a spacecraft.”

So said Professor Hermann Oberth, one of the early fathers of rocketry and the mentor to the young Wernher von Braun.

Meanwhile, von Braun himself stated in 1959 that: “We find ourselves faced by powers which are far stronger than we had hitherto assumed, and whose base of operations is at present unknown to us. More I cannot say at present. We are now engaged in entering into a closer contact with those powers, and in six or nine months’ time it may be possible to speak with more precision on the matter.”

While neither Oberth nor von Braun specify that they were aided in their efforts by Aryan Space Brothers, they are nevertheless surprisingly candid in what they DID say for public consumption. Their openness may have been part of some larger strategy to steer the belief in UFOs in the direction of the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis (or the “ETH” for short) and therefore away from a darker point of origin in the blueprints and designs of the Nazis. In the decades-long campaign of disinformation waged against the truth of the UFO phenomenon, Oberth and von Braun may have simply been firing another salvo of confusion and subterfuge. Or were they being sincere in reflecting on their own invention processes? Was there an undeniable alien presence working alongside them? Like most unanswered questions about the UFO phenomenon, the answers await their time.

IS NAZISM PART OF THE ALIEN ABDUCTION PROGRAM?

Another fascinating thread of the story that Beckley holds fast to is this: In many alien abduction accounts, especially the early stories from the late 1950s and early 1960s, the UFO occupants are said to speak in German and to speak English with unmistakable German accents.

reinhold-schmidt02

On Oct. 5, 1957, 48-year-old Reinhold Schmidt said he stumbled across a spaceship when his car stalled near the Platte River in Kearney, Neb. Schmidt said he was invited inside to chat with the humanoid occupants – four men and two women, who spoke both English and German.

There is the case of a well-known contactee named Reinhold Schmidt, who encountered an alien ship in Kearney, Nebraska, in 1957. After accepting the flying saucer captain’s invitation to come onboard, Schmidt heard the captain and crew speaking to one another in “High German,” a dialect that Schmidt had been versed in by his parents from his youth up. Apparently unaware that Schmidt could understand them, the beings spoke to him with their Deutsche accents intact and made no effort to disguise their voices.

The 1961 abduction of New Hampshire couple Betty and Barney Hill is much better known than Schmidt’s, but, when studying their case, there is an often overlooked moment when Barney, as he undergoes regressive hypnosis with post-trauma specialist Dr. Benjamin Simon, begins to panic when one of his alien abductors takes on the appearance of a Nazi in full uniform. Was this a glimpse into the aliens’ “true” agenda? As an African-American in the early 1960s, Barney was certainly familiar with the oppressive fears that come from being a victim of racism. Did his unconscious mind somehow conjure the Nazi image as an expression of those fears? Or was it intended as a grim warning of future totalitarian domination?

MORE TROUBLESOME NAZIS “UNDERFOOT”

Adamski-and-the-Venusian-encounter-4-post

George Adamski claimed to have met an androgynous, blond-haired, blue-eyed Aryan Space Brother who called himself Orthon in the California desert.

The Nazis also cast a shadow over even the beginnings of the contactee movement in the 1950s. Many people will be familiar with the 1952 meeting between George Adamski and the androgynous, blond-haired, blue-eyed Aryan Space Brother who called himself Orthon. But one may not know that that first contact in the California desert was facilitated by Adamski’s associate, George Hunt Williamson, who worked out the time and location for the landing in the days before it took place by using an Ouija board to communicate with the Space Brothers. Williamson was himself associated with right wing extremist William Dudley Pelley, an American Nazi-sympathizer who had served time in jail for sedition and anti-government rabble-rousing. While Williamson would later disavow that he held any racist beliefs at the time, he did serve in Pelley’s employ writing and editing pro-fascist pamphlets and magazines.

orthon boot print

From an imprint left in the soft soil. Adamski’s space contact, known as Orthon, had the symbol of the swastika etched onto the sole of his space boots.

Admittedly, no one wants to give up the utopian hopes that accompany belief in the Space Brothers. But the fact that their physical appearance embodied the ideal of Aryan or Nordic “good looks” is not an easy one to ignore. In the case of the desert encounter between Adamski and Orthon, we have this to consider as well: there exists a line drawing based on a plaster-of-Paris cast, taken at the site of the meeting, of the boot print of Orthon. One can easily discern a pair of swastikas engraved into the sole of the alien’s boot, leading one to consider the possibility that the visiting alien followed “on the heels,” so to speak, of the Nazis defeated some short few years before.

When one combines these seemingly disparate events with one another, they coalesce into a picture of the possible: Aryan aliens who matched their advanced knowledge and technology with willing scientists bent on controlling the world, a kind of fifty-fifty split between extraterrestrial and human efforts that resulted in the flying saucer phenomenon as we know it today.

THE NAZIS GET THEIR “BELL” RUNG

But there is still more. One of the most generally agreed upon historical aspects of the Nazis/UFO theory concerns an aircraft called “Die Glocke,” which is German for “The Bell.” It was believed to be a product of both alien guidance and the work of topflight scientists like the aforementioned von Braun and Oberth.

A mockup of this purported airship has been circulated down through the years and it is indeed a bell-shaped aircraft, although what kind of propulsion system could enable such an ungainly monstrosity to fly at mind-bending speeds remains unknown. The Bell is also said to contain the time travel apparatus that is so essential to the story, but which remains an even deeper mystery than what kind of fuel propelled it through the skies. Some contend that the propulsion system is based either in the long sought after antigravity energy or some manipulation of electronic principles which can be tapped into throughout the universe.

NAZIUFO-BELL-570

Die Glocke – “The Bell”

In 1965, in Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, numerous witnesses saw an unknown object crash in the woods outside town. Locals reported that some kind of government/military cleanup crew was on the scene nearly immediately, which indicates that the federal interlopers had been following the craft’s descent on radar. The witnesses say the object was put on the back of a flatbed truck under some kind of tarp covering and hurriedly hauled away. But it was still possible to discern that the clandestine cargo was a large, acorn-shaped object that could easily be said to have resembled the contours of the Nazis’ Bell. In fact, the similarity is so remarkable that one hesitates to conclude that it’s all just a coincidence.

MADNESS OR GENUINE DEMONS?

Mainstream historians today reckon it as Hitler’s madness, but what if at least some of those supernatural forces were real? Did some otherworldly aggregation of spirits make contact with Hitler in order to wreak cruelty and warfare on the world? Was Hitler just another pawn in their game?

Occult Secrets of the Third Reich” offers an examination of the links between Hitler and the occult in essays from well-known paranormal writers like the aforementioned Tim Beckley, Sean Casteel (myself), Olav Phillips and Teodoro Rampale. Also contributing are Tim Swartz, Brad Steiger, Tim Cridland, Albrecht Giddings, Peter Moon and Hercules Invictus. The authors approach the subject of Nazi occultism from a variety of angles, leading the reader on a journey through the darkness that will leave one shuddering in fear at what could have been – had the Nazis and their occultism succeeded.

PROJECT MAGNET “EXPOSED”

CRASHED SAUCERS AND THE SECRET LIFE OF CANADA’S WILBERT B. SMITH

By Sean Casteel

Though it is a little known fact, the truth is that certain individuals with ties to the Canadian government have secretly been promoting the idea that UFOs are operating in Earth’s atmosphere and are piloted not by “monsters,” but by a group or groups of individuals who are as human as we are but are technologically more advanced than the human race.

paul-hellyer-ex-canadian-defense-minister

Canadian Defense Minister Paul Hellyer

Former Canadian Defense Minister Paul Hellyer (1963-1967) shocked the media several years ago by stating that he was convinced that off-world visitors have been zipping across the heavens for thousands of years, and that it’s not impossible that aliens have infiltrated  our society and are walking the streets undetected because they resemble us almost identically.

But as much attention as Mr. Hellyer’s remarks might have gotten in the press, many decades before, another Canadian had made similar bold remarks concerning Ultra-Terrestrials coming here either from other planets or from a parallel universe.

*** So let us begin by journeying back in time to when UFOlogy was young and the groundwork was being laid for the greatest cosmic adventure the world has ever experienced. “Project Magnet” tells the story of a Canadian radio engineer’s transformation from scientific, nuts-and-bolts UFO researcher to ardent follower of the Space Brothers’ philosophy.

*** We are currently engaged in a crucial metaphysical battle against the forces seeking to destroy mankind. Can we align ourselves with the good forces seeking our salvation? Is it too late to redeem our race from destruction and damnation?

*** Are the flying saucers sent to Earth by God Almighty? Are they His cosmic sign that eventually love will conquer all? “Project Magnet” offers hope in our potential rescue along with hard scientific data on the UFO phenomenon.

*******

Even as an ardent student of UFOlogy, you may not know the name of Wilbert Smith. He is an unsung hero in the field, but remains indisputably important in the more than 50 years since his death in 1962.

PROJECT MAGNET – THE LIGHTS IN THE SKY ARE NOT STARS

Global Communications CEO Timothy Green Beckley has recently assembled a book that pays tribute to Smith and the 1950s, the era in which Smith pursued the truth of the UFO mystery. The new book is called “Project Magnet,” with the subtitle – “The Objects in the Sky Are Not Stars!”

Beckley writes in his introduction: “Almost forgotten these days, Smith was a highly-educated engineer who coaxed the Canadian government into establishing Project Magnet, a threadbare project to study and treat reports of UFOs seriously so as to determine who – or what – might be behind this mysterious phenomenon that was seemingly taking over the skies of North America after the end of the Second World War.”

THE SEARCH FOR GEO-MAGNETISM OPENS THE DOOR

Wilbert Smith

Wilbert Smith headed Canada’s clandestine Project Magnet which tracked UFOs on a number of occasions.

Project Magnet began operations in 1950 with the purpose of studying, among other occurrences, magnetic phenomena. Wilbert Smith, a senior radio engineer from the Canadian Department of Transport, was put in charge of the project. The goals of Project Magnet were fueled by the concepts of geo-magnetism, and the belief that it might be possible to use and manipulate the Earth’s magnetic field as a propulsion method for vehicles.

Smith came to believe that this technology already existed in the mysterious UFOs that had been sighted so frequently in Canada, the U.S. and the rest of the world.  He felt that the “correlation between our basic theory and the available information on saucers checks too closely to be mere coincidence.”

Nevertheless, Smith’s approach to the study of UFOs was a pragmatic one.

“It is perfectly natural in the human thinking mechanism,” Smith wrote, “to try and fit observations into an established pattern. It is only when observations stubbornly refuse to be so fitted that we become disturbed. When this happens, we may, and usually do, take one of three courses. First, we may deny completely the validity of the observations; or second, we may pass the whole subject off as something of no consequence; or third, we may accept the discrepancies as real and go to work on them. In the matter of saucer sightings, all three of these reactions have been strikingly apparent. The first two approaches are obviously negative and from which a definite conclusion can never be reached. It is the third approach – acceptance of the data and subsequent research – that is dealt with in this report.”

wilbert smith clipping To this day, there has never been a clearer statement of how to take an honest and open-minded look at the UFO phenomenon. Smith’s urging his peers to accept the strange and mysterious “discrepancies” as the starting point for serious research has echoed down through UFOlogy in the decades since but has sadly remained mostly unheeded.

Smith went on to explain that the data he and his team had to work with consisted largely of sightings reports as observed throughout Canada. This included many reports from the field representatives of the Department of Transport, whose job it is to watch the sky and who are trained to do precisely those kinds of observations. Useful data was also obtained from instruments, such as those at ionospheric observatories.

But Smith cautioned against expecting too much from the field stations because of the very sporadic nature of the sightings. And laboratory studies were useless without some kind of specimen with which to experiment, and it was not likely that such a specimen would be obtained any time soon. So, according to Smith, we are then forced to rely on “deductive reasoning,” at least until it is possible to work out procedures more in line with conventional experimental methods.

WHAT WAS THE GOVERNMENT HIDING?

In 1950, prior to the establishment of Project Magnet, Smith was attending what he called “a rather slow-moving broadcasting conference in Washington D.C.” He had some time on his hands so he circulated around, asking a few questions about flying saucers. “Which stirred up a hornet’s nest. I found that the U.S. government had a highly classified project set up to study them, so I reasoned that with so much smoke maybe I should look for the fire.”

Smith subsequently made “discreet inquiries” through the Canadian Embassy staff in Washington, who were able to obtain for him the following information:

  1. The matter is the most highly classified subject in the U.S. government, rating even higher than the A-bomb.
  2. Flying saucers exist.
  3. Their modus operandi is unknown but concentrated effort is being made by a small group headed by Dr. Vannevar Bush, who some maintain was the initial guiding force behind a secret government cabal known as Majestic 12, created to monitor a number of UFO crashes, including the one in Roswell, NM (circa July, 1947) in which several alien bodies were recovered from the wreckage. It was Bush and company’s purpose to foil the flow of information on the UFOs to the American public and to literally censor the truth about the arrival of ETs on our planet.
  4. The entire matter is considered by the United States authorities to be of tremendous significance.

Smith said his investigations were a matter of simple curiosity and that he began as an extreme skeptic, fully expecting the phenomenon to be manmade or created by natural causes. He gave his credentials as an impartial and qualified researcher, saying, “I am 48-years-old, hold a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, occupy a responsible position in the Canadian government, hold half a dozen patents, am author of several technical papers, and in general enjoy a background in technical work and science indicating at least an average competence to study and report on phenomena of a scientific nature. I have tried so far as possible to use conventional and standard methods and equipment to investigate all possible angles before drawing any conclusions. In other words, I have followed the same general procedures which I would have followed if I had undertaken to study some more prosaic subject, such as radio wave propagation.”

Smith memo project magnet

Official Canadian government document regarding Project Magnet.

One of the foremost revelations in “Project Magnet” is Wilbert Smith’s report that he was told by U.S. officials on his various visits to Washington that they had retrieved at least one UFO that had crashed in the Southwest at Roswell and were examining the remains of the corpses of several alien bodies found within the wreckage (unconfirmed). The revelation to Smith that a craft from outer space may have crashed in the desert is said to have stunned him at first, but later he came to take such bombshell events in stride.

As stated above, American scientists had gone so far as to declare that the existence of flying saucers should be kept more highly classified than the development of the atomic bomb. Because of these revelations, Smith went back home to appeal to his superiors not to let the Americans pull ahead in their findings about these flying discs and urged that Canadian researchers begin their own official study, which was quickly established under the “code name” Project Magnet.

The story of what Project Magnet uncovered is a major part of this just released tome edited by publisher Tim Beckley. The book also includes updated revelations by contemporary researcher Grant Cameron (PresidentialUFO.com) as well as a bonus history of humanoid and creature sightings and close encounters throughout Canada by the late amateur astronomer John Musgrave, who worked while on a grant from Ottawa’s government. Perhaps the most exciting part of this book is the disclosure that Wilbur Smith was a UFO contactee himself and was in touch with others on a regular basis who claimed to have received communications from off-earth dwellers.

MOVING BEYOND SIMPLE PHYSICAL REALITY

project magnet wilbur smith

It was from this secluded shack on the outskirts of Shirley Bay that Project Magnet operated.

It is important, in the light of where his studies would eventually take Smith, to establish his credibility as a pragmatic scientist approaching the UFO subject in the utmost of “real world” terms. Smith explains, “If we are to rely on sightings data alone, we are bound to get a rather one-sided idea of these creatures. For example, we see saucers traveling at terrific speeds and then suddenly stop or change direction. Under our concepts of physics, no creature of flesh, blood and bone could withstand the terrific forces which would be associated with such actions.  Therefore we are led to assume that the saucerians must be some manner of robot or a creature the like of which we have never encountered.”

He also points out that, in spite of their unknowably high level of technological achievement, the UFO occupants have never simply landed and announced that they were taking over the earth. This is perhaps because they regard us as in the same general category as the other flora and fauna native to this planet and believe our civilization is so primitive as to be indistinguishable from that of the lower animals and insects.

But such speculations don’t necessarily lead us to the truth, according to Smith. Fortunately the UFO occupants HAVE made contact with certain earthlings deemed to be capable of receiving the information and passing it along to others. Along with the many sightings reports Smith began collecting and analyzing claims of contact with the aliens and to assemble what he felt were the mores and ethics of the people from the flying saucers.

“It adds up to a complete and elegant philosophy,” Smith wrote. “These people tell us of a magnificent cosmic plan, of which we are a part, which transcends the lifetime of a single person or a nation or a civilization – or even a planet or solar system. We are not merely told that there is something beyond our immediate experience; we are told what it is, why it is, and our relation thereto. Many of our most vexing problems are solved with a few words; at least we are told of the solutions if we have the understanding and fortitude to apply them.

“We are told of the inadequacies of our science,” he continued, “and we have been given the basic grounding for a new science which is at once simpler and yet more embracing than the mathematical monstrosity which we have conjured up. We have been told of a way of life which is utopian beyond our dreams and the means of attaining it. Can it be that such a consistent, magnificent philosophy is the figment of the imaginations of a number of misguided morons? I do not think so.”

If such is the case and all of this is known, the reasonable person asks, then why has it not been publicized? Why aren’t we studying the sciences gifted to us by the aliens instead of atom bombs?

The answer, Smith tells us, is that it HAS been publicized. Books have been written and thousands of copies sold. There are many periodicals available containing this knowledge, which may be had for a nominal sum. Reports have been prepared by serious investigators and presented “through the proper channels.”

THE FLYING SAUCERS AND THEIR ABILITY TO CHANGE “REALITY”

SMITH MAGNETIC LINES

Smith believed UFOs utilized the magnetic polarity of the earth to propel themselves through our atmosphere.

“But it is truly said,” Smith acknowledged, “that one can lead a horse to water but one cannot make him drink. There are probably as many private reasons for not facing up to the facts as there are people who refuse to do so. However, it is consoling to realize that, through the humble and often criticized comic strip and science fiction stories, the younger generation is being conditioned to accept the reality of people from elsewhere, and when given the opportunity to do so avidly assimilate all they can get on flying saucers and the people who fly them.”

One is struck by the overwhelming transformative power the study of UFOs and their occupants often has on people. Smith’s interest in flying saucers began as a mild case of curiosity and over a few years became something like a religious fervor.

In a portion of Smith’s writing collected in “Project Magnet,” entitled “The Battle for Man’s Mind,” he feels called upon to warn his readers about a grave danger we are all facing, either consciously or unconsciously. Two great forces are striving to gain control of man’s mind, a struggle that has been going on from time immemorial.

“But never in the world’s history,” he wrote, “has the conflict been more intense than it is in this present era of confusion and unrest. In the old days, mankind was often made to suffer physically, unspeakable things in the name of power. But today, with man’s mind more developed and better educated, he is now facing the prospect of a refinement of even greater mental and spiritual cruelty – unless he is prepared to protect himself with right thinking.”

Smith describes one of the two great forces as positive, leading us to thoughts of harmony and the concept of the love of God and the brotherhood of man. The other force is negative, encompassing the antichrist philosophy and serving a mad lust for power. The battle takes place on both the physical and metaphysical fronts with the object being the spiritual salvation of mankind or our utter destruction.

GOOD, EVIL, AND OUR STAGE OF EVOLUTION

obe

The Space Brothers are concentrating equally hard on sending out positive thoughts of goodwill and brotherly love.

Man’s brain, Smith teaches, operates on the metaphysical plane like a two-way radio, transmitting and receiving messages along the airwaves of the universe. [This is a very apt metaphor, when one considers that Smith was a government expert on radio broadcasting.] Man’s brain is open to both good and bad input, which he either accepts or rejects according to his stage of evolution.

Messages received through esoteric sources, purporting to come from the Space Brothers, who take an active interest in our spiritual welfare, warn us that an even greater conflict is being fought on the metaphysical plane. The lower or negative forces that damned themselves by wrong thinking are projecting strong thoughts earthward in an attempt to bring about our spiritual downfall. On the other hand, the Space Brothers are concentrating equally hard on sending out positive thoughts of goodwill and brotherly love.

“Thus we are being bombarded from the metaphysical plane by two conflicting schools of thought,” Smith wrote. “And free will being the criterion of spiritual advancement, it is left to us which we choose to accept. However, from a purely logical point of view, if we want to save ourselves a lot of sorrow both in this life and lives to come, we should arm ourselves mentally against the onslaught of negative thoughts.”

It is no time for confused or apathetic thinking, which can lead to the exact forms of negativity Smith is warning us against.

WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED IN ‘PROJECT MAGNET’

Wilbur Smith

Wilbur Smith

So “Project Magnet” is more than mere nostalgia. It demonstrates a near prescience on the part of Wilbert Smith, who clearly saw into the nature of our troubled times and the constant struggle our minds are required to muster against evil thought forms and ideas.

Publisher and editor Timothy Green Beckley talks about other aspects of the book in his introduction.

“I have added relevant material from numerous contributors, as well as from both new and archival sources” Beckley writes. “Grant Cameron (the only provider of reliable “Disclosure” updates as far as I am concerned) is a vast depository of knowledge on Smith, being a Canuck himself, and has been exceedingly helpful in my compilation. And since Smith is certainly the most important figure in Canadian UFO history, no work on Project Magnet, as far as I am concerned, would be complete without a little known manuscript I personally published in 1979 by John Musgrave, which is a chronicle of humanoid and critter encounters North of the American side of the border. I was upset to learn Musgrave went into spirit a number of years ago. His work is one of the best catalogs of UFO encounters of the third kind ever published, and it certainly should be shared with contemporary researchers of UFO lore, as it makes the subject of Project Magnet as complete as it could possibly be.”

So maybe you should choose, of your own free will, to buy a copy of “Project Magnet”? It couldn’t hurt, really, to read how Wilbert Smith’s scientific study of flying saucers grew into a spiritual devotion to his fellow man and to the God who teaches us to love one another.

MIKE WALLACE INTERVIEWS MAJOR DONALD E. KEYHOE

WALLACE: You say the Canadian official project, what do you mean by the official…?

KEYHOE: There was an official project called “Project Magnet,” and they set up an observatory at Shirley Bay to try to track these things. And…

WALLACE: What happened to the official project? You say there was a project.

KEYHOE: Yes. They ran for about a year and they had one sighting on the gravimeter, which indicated that something… a very large object had flow over there, but they finally decided that they were spending a little bit much money on that, I suppose.

WALLACE: For certain, they wouldn’t have thought that they were spending too much money on it, if they believed that that kind of phenomena existed.

KEYHOE: A lot of people on the project are still working up there on their own time and certain government officials have still kept the lid on the reports in Canada, just as they do down here.

LEGACY OF THE SKY PEOPLE: WAS NOAH’S ARK A STRANGE VEHICLE FROM MARS?

By Sean Casteel

legacy of sky people

The cover of the recently updated and expanded edition of “Legacy of the Sky People.”

Timothy Green Beckley just keeps those hits coming! Like a favorite Golden Oldies radio station, the old days are never really gone, and new shades of meaning continue to accrue.

Beckley’s latest blast from the past is a greatly expanded update of Brinsley Le Poer Trench’s “The Sky People,” one of the earliest books to emerge on what is now the familiar concept of Ancient Astronauts. Most people nowadays consider Erich von Daniken and the late Zechariah Stichen to be the headliners for this ancient aliens show, but Trench, an Englishman who was also the 8th Earl of Clancarty and thus a member of the House of Lords in the British Parliament, was there ahead of both those distinguished gentlemen with his groundbreaking “The Sky People” from the early 1960s.

The story of Brinsley Le Poer Trench is close to Beckley’s heart. Beckley began to correspond with Trench in the 1960s when Beckley was just starting out as a UFO journalist and publisher. The two flying saucer enthusiasts exchanged their respective publications (“Flying Saucer Review,” published in the UK, and Beckley’s “Interplanetary News Service Report” in the U.S.) and shared a warm correspondence for many years. In the 1970s, Trench invited Beckley to speak before a special committee on UFOs at the House of Lords, and Beckley made the trip to London without hesitation. Over forty years later, Beckley still speaks fondly of the late Earl of Clancarty, who died in 1995.

Brinsley le Poer Trench 1

It should be noted that Beckley’s “Bizarre Bazaar/Conspiracy Journal” publishing “empire” has not shied away from publishing works of great historical value on the arrival of interstellar beings throughout antiquity. He has previously published works of the great Sir Walter R. Drake (i.e. “Alien Space Gods of Ancient Greece and Rome/Ancient Secrets of Mysterious America“) as well as the controversial George Hunt Williamson (“Other Tongues Other Flesh/Ancient Secrets of the Andes and the Golden Sun Disc“).  But Beckley hasn’t merely repackaged Trench’s book. He has also added new material from some of the best writers in Ufology with their personal studies of ancient astronauts theory. For example, Nick Redfern, one of the top researchers in the paranormal today, contributes a longish chapter to the new book in which he discusses the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark.

Everyone is familiar with the story, taken from the Book of Genesis. But are you aware that the story – a great, world-destroying flood from which God spared only a handful of righteous mortals and two of every kind of beast – is also an integral part of other religious traditions, such as the Sumerian, the Babylonian, and the ancient Hindus? Redfern explains how the story of a human being instructed to build a ship to shelter a remnant of mankind from a looming world cataclysm is one of the most universal of religious myths, spanning the globe with its timeless tale of good triumphing over evil.

But Redfern’s examination of the Ark story doesn’t end there. Legend has it that Noah’s Ark came to rest on Turkey’s Mount Ararat. Redfern tells the intriguing story of how in 1949, a U.S. Air Force flight crew photographed an anomalous structure protruding from the ice and snow of Mount Ararat and started a decades-long effort by the military and intelligence communities to understand what the mysterious object actually is.

mtararatobjectWorking from declassified files obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, Redfern recounts how the anomalous object was thought to be something metallic, not the gopher-wood of Noah’s construction, and therefore possibly a crashed alien ship. The chain of documents uncovered by Redfern makes for fascinating reading.

When 1950s-era alien contactees like George Van Tassel also took an interest in the mystery atop Mount Ararat, they came under the watchful eye of the CIA and FBI. Information on the structure was at one point leaking like a sieve, according to Redfern, and the government was determined to plug those leaks. What was the government so determined to hide? Was the discovery of Noah’s Ark a national security issue? Or was it a case of another crashed UFO? Turkey’s own version of the Roswell Incident?

bradsteiger

Brad Steiger

My own contributions to the new edition of “The Sky People” are a couple of chapters in which I speak to Brad Steiger, one of the most prolific writers on the strange and supernatural in the world, and Giorgio Tsoukalos, the official spokesman for Erich von Daniken in the English-speaking world, and the personality with that wild and crazy styled hair on “Ancient Aliens” broadcast over the History Channel.

Steiger recalls attending an Ancient Astronauts conference in the early 1980s at which the main speakers were Erich von Daniken, Josef Blumrich (author of “The Spaceships of Ezekiel,” written when he worked at NASA) and Steiger himself. Not in attendance was our man of the hour, Brinsley Le Poer Trench.

“He was probably generally neglected,” Steiger said, “because Erich von Daniken was the fair-haired boy at that time and was given a great deal of credit for coming up with the whole ancient astronauts concept. It was easier to do then. We didn’t have the media that we do now. And a book such as ‘The Sky People’ was read by a few individuals, but the great masses of people then were not interested. Then something comes out and gets a lot of attention, like ‘Chariots of the Gods?’ As people said, von Daniken just happened to be standing in front of the cosmic slot machine when it paid off.”

Stieger also praised Trench for his theories concerning the Planet Mars, specifically the idea that instead of Noah being an ancient Israelite, he was a great leader on Mars and the Ark was a giant spaceship intended to carry a surviving remnant to Earth.

“At the time Trench said it,” Stieger continued, “people weren’t prepared. But it’s been interesting to see that in most polls the idea of life existing on other planets or in other solar systems is now generally accepted by young people. Whereas back in the 1950s and 1960s, it was rejected by nearly everyone. More and more, the idea that life could have existed elsewhere in our solar system doesn’t get a door slammed immediately.”

Steiger said he has come to feel that, “We have met the Martians and they are us,” meaning we may have been genetically engineered by a superior race who originated on Mars and brought life to Earth for whatever unknown cosmic reason.

vibrations

“I think, the more I study,” Steiger said, “that we are definitely hardwired to perceive advanced beings as godlike, and I think we are hardwired just to perceive and understand a concept of God. Now, whether that has been hardwired by our progenitors from outer space, or it is just hardwired in terms of our evolution and our DNA, for how we perceive entities greater than we, is a question we could discuss endlessly. But I think it’s just hardwired into us to perceive that we are part of a greater cosmic entity.”

I also discussed the God angle with Giorgio Tsoukalos, who, along with his mentor Erich von Daniken, draws a definite line in the sand when it comes to calling the ancient astronauts the literal Creator God.

“Let’s say you and I create an intelligent species in the lab,” Tsoukalos said. “That does not make you and me God. The whole ‘God question’ transcends the extraterrestrial presence. The extraterrestrials that Erich von Daniken and I talk about are not ethereal beings. They were flesh and blood, physical people consisting of the same atoms and molecules and particles that every single human being and every single thing has here on Planet Earth.

“That is also why the extraterrestrials look like us,” he continued. “The whole idea that extraterrestrials look like something out of the movie ‘Aliens’ or ‘Independence Day,’ that’s a Hollywood stereotype. But both Erich and I think that there is an all-encompassing force in the universe. But you can’t really put your finger on it. You can’t really touch it. Even the extraterrestrials have the same exact questions about life, death, God and religion and all those different things that we are struggling with today. To suggest that the extraterrestrials have all the mysteries solved – I think it’s not that easy.”

Tim Swartz, another major writer for Global Communications and the editor of the online “Conspiracy Journal,” also contributes a chapter to this updated edition of “The Sky People.” Swartz gives the kind of broad overview of the ancient astronauts theory that will be very helpful for those new to the subject as well as for those more familiar with this strange territory. He begins by talking about paintings found in caves around the world.

“Cave paintings from Tanzania,” Swartz writes, “estimated to be up to 29,000 years old, depict several disc-shaped objects that appear to be hovering over the landscape. Another painting shows four humanoid entities surrounding a woman while another entity looks down from the sky inside some sort of box.

“Inside the French cave of Pech Merle,” Swartz continues, “near Le Cabrerets, are paintings from around 17,000 to 15,000 BCE that show landscapes full of wildlife with a number of saucer-shaped objects. One painting actually shows the figure of a man looking up at one of the overhead saucers. In northern Australia, there are a number of cave paintings, possibly more than 5,000 years old, that show strange beings with large heads and eyes, wearing spacesuit-like garments. The Aborigines call these creatures Wandjina, and according to legend, the Wandjina came down from the stars in the Milky Way during the Dreamtime and created the Earth and all its inhabitants.”

pechmerlecaveart

Cave painting from Pech Merle that shows the figure of a man looking up at overhead saucers.

The phenomenon of the cave paintings Swartz describes is the sort of thing that inspired Brinsley Le Poer Trench and the other researchers of the ancient astronauts theory to begin with, although Trench’s ideas also depended a great deal on his groundbreaking interpretation of the Book of Genesis.

Trench was among the first to recognize that Genesis actually contains two different versions of the Creation Story and the Great Flood account. This has puzzled Biblical scholars for many years, who believe that the differing versions were probably inexpertly grafted together from earlier oral and written traditions. This fact is not taught in Sunday school or preached from the pulpits, but it is there for anyone to read.

What was Trench’s take on the two different Creation Stories? For him, it was simple: two different races of man were created by two separate Creator Gods, one called the Elohim (which is actually a plural term) and the other called Jehovah, which Trench says is also a plural term, though not generally thought of as such.

The Elohim created a form of man who is telepathic, intelligent and sensitive. The Jehovah created a more primitive form of man, designed to till the gods’ gardens on the Earth and otherwise be servile and docile. According to Trench, both races have survived into modern times, but it is the superior form of mankind created by the Elohim who will eventually win out. Some of us are rapidly reacquiring the telepathy we were meant to have from our very earliest beginnings and mankind will eventually become a sensitive, caring race living again in a virtual paradise. Meanwhile, the strain of mankind created by the Jehovah will eventually flounder in its paranoia and delusions of grandeur and gradually cease to exist.

thumbnail_aliens-in-time-and-space-maria

Could the ancient aliens still be living among us; working and raising families and going about the same everyday activities we all do?

This all sounds a little like the coming of a Biblically-inspired Super Man, and one wonders if the entire race being telepathic might not be a little uncomfortable at times. Alien abduction researcher David Jacobs also believes in a future telepathic world, but he questions how a person might function without the privacy of his thoughts? Like many issues raised by Trench, this one is not so easily resolved. Trench also has a prescient moment or two when he writes about global warming and the threat posed by radical religious fundamentalism. Writing over 50 years ago, he seems to have his finger on the pulse of our own times. Was he a prophet himself?

The ancient aliens are still with us today, according to Trench. Some of them live among us unseen, working and raising families and going about the same everyday activities we all do. This also has been touched upon by more current UFO researchers, like the late Budd Hopkins, who claimed that alien/human hybrid creatures – who appear utterly human physically – walk among us equipped with telepathic and other “supernatural” capabilities. These same aliens, Trench believed, will prevent us from perishing by our own hand, with nuclear weapons or ecological suicide, which is a welcome departure from the more vocal prophets of doom. For Trench, our survival was guaranteed, not our demise.

So whether you’re Bible-believing or a staunch agnostic, Brinsley Le Poer Trench and the other contributors to this updated version of “The Sky People” will give you new and different perspectives on many truths you may have long taken for granted about God and the evolution of mankind. Be prepared for a fascinating and complex dive into the unknown that will surely be worth more than the cover price.

OTHER DIMENSIONS, PHYSICS, THE BIBLE, AND THE PARTING OF THE RED SEA

Slow Train Coming: The Continuing Religious/UFO Odyssey of Dr. Barry Downing

By Sean Casteel

Science and religion could end up complementing each other. New – more “radical” – trends in physics point to the existence of parallel universes and other dimensions which could assist in explaining many Biblical mysteries and miracles, at least according to one Protestant minister who has spent a half century pondering the reality of UFOs and extraterrestrials and their possible connection to the seemingly bizarre and unexplainable tales of the Old and New Testaments.

Reverend Barry Downing, who resides in upstate New York, was among the first to see that it wasn’t a given that the “good book” was in conflict with the lore of the flying saucer and the possibility that our universe might be constructed of a bit more than just physical matter. He posited that heaven could be a real place – if not in our timeline then perhaps in a parallel existence just beyond our reach. Could that other dimension possibly be accessible through the guidance of Godly ultra-terrestrial beings and their vehicles? What we think of as spaceships could, in some cases, be divine.

Rev. Barry H. Downing

*** Reverend Barry Downing has been preaching the gospel of “UFO angels” for nearly 50 years now, since the publication of his 1968 book, “The Bible and Flying Saucers.” Downing has recently released a new book called “Biblical UFO Revelations” that incorporates hard won wisdom and perspectives gleaned in the intervening years as he steadfastly continues to make his case for his particular take on Christianity and the aliens.

*** Downing is not just an ordained minister and a religious expert, he is also well-versed in physics, having earned his bachelor’s degree in the field. So he is uniquely qualified to analyze Biblical miracles like the parting of the Red Sea from the Exodus both scientifically and as a man of faith. Read more about the “environmental impact” that the pillar of cloud and fire exerted for the sake of the fleeing Israelites.

*** How does one approach the extreme levels of fear experienced by witnesses to angels in the Bible? Is the fear a UFO witness experiences an example of that same kind of fear? Are we actually wise to approach the two phenomena in abject terror and trembling? At what point does a heavenly love enter the picture and cast out all fear?

I was on the air this past summer with Timothy Green Beckley and Tim Swartz, the hosts of the KCOR podcast “Exploring the Bizarre,” with their special guest, the Presbyterian minister Dr. Barry Downing. In a commercial break, during which we all chatted but the audience could not hear us, Downing informed us that he had sufficient new material for a physical/print book.

Thinking quickly on his feet, Tim Beckley wasted no time in offering to publish Downing’s more recent writings through Beckley’s company Global Communications/Inner Light. And so the process began for “Biblical UFO Revelations,” a book that is a long overdue reprise from an important pioneer in the ancient aliens school of UFO interpretation.

Biblical UFO Revelations By Rev. Barry Downing

Downing made his initial entry into the UFO community in 1968 with his groundbreaking tome “The Bible and Flying Saucers.” The book explored the possibility of extraterrestrial influence in the development of the Old and New Testaments, with particular emphasis on the notion that one can equate the “angels” of the Bible with the “aliens” of our modern era. Which, at the time, was fairly new and unfamiliar territory for the relatively young field of UFO research.

Before writing that first book, Downing had already earned a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburg in Scotland. His dissertation, called “Eschatological Implications of the Understanding of Time and Space in the Thought of Isaac Newton,” combined the religious, the philosophical and the scientific into the kind of whole that would serve Downing well in his years spent researching and writing about UFOs.

When Downing returned from Scotland in May of 1966, he set up shop in his in-laws’ basement and wrote his book while he awaited his first church assignment as a newly ordained minister. He finished the writing one week before taking a job at the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Endwell, New York, in February 1967, and the book came out the following year.

“I was hopeful that conservative Christians would be more positive than liberal Christians,” Downing told me by email. “It turned out to be the case that neither liberals nor conservatives liked my book. So in a sense I was treated ‘fairly’ by both sides.”

THE ‘ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT’ OF A UFO

The parting of the Red Sea is particularly interesting to Downing, and he gives it 20 pages of examination in “The Bible and Flying Saucers” and devotes a chapter to it in the new book, “Biblical UFO Revelations.”

parting-the-red-sea

Did an extraterrestrial space ship use its propulsion system to part the waters of the Red Sea?

“My argument is that the Exodus UFO, the pillar of cloud and fire,” he explained, “which appeared cloud-like during the day and glowed in the dark, used its propulsion system to split the waters of the Red Sea and save Israel from the Egyptians. The reason the parting of the Red Sea is so important is that it tells us in detail the environmental impact of the UFO presence. Modern researchers go to landing spots with Geiger counters and all kinds of equipment in order to study the environmental impact of a flying saucer landing. Exodus 14:19-30 is a very detailed environmental impact statement.”

Downing says he differs from the standard biblical interpretation that a “strong wind” was used to part the sea, because a wind strong enough to do that would also have blown Moses and the Israelites into the sky. The biblical text says the ground was dry when the Israelites crossed over, but since the escape was taking place at night, it could not have been dried by the sun. Downing suggests that some kind of microwave effect may have been involved.

“I believe the best explanation for the parting of the Red Sea,” he said, “is that the pillar of cloud and fire was some type of spaceship, and those in charge of the spaceship planned the parting of the sea well in advance, to save Israel from the Egyptians and to keep Israel from going back to Egypt, once the Jews discovered that the whole Exodus process was not a walk in the park.”

THE NEW PHYSICS: WHAT THE YEARS HAVE TAUGHT DOWNING

Downing has kept up with the worlds of UFOlogy and physics. His bachelor’s degree is in physics, which he earned while on scholarship at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York.

“When I published ‘The Bible and Flying Saucers’ in 1968,” Downing writes in “Biblical UFO Revelations,” “I had one major concern about connecting UFOs to biblical angels. The biblical view of angels was they were eternal beings, they had eternal life. My understanding of the scientific worldview at that time was that we live in a ‘running down universe,’ meaning that at some time in the future the universe will run out of energy and die. If this were true, then no one living in this universe could be eternal.

flying saucers bible angels

Dr. Downing contends that Biblical angels could have been of extraterrestrial origin or perhaps from another realm or dimension.

“I began to explore the possibility,’ he continues, “that there might be more than one universe, that there might be a way to escape from the space-time continuum of our universe into a world that did not decay, did not run down. I thought Einstein’s Theory of Relativity offered us the freedom to explore some possibilities within the framework of the as yet unfinished science of advanced physics. With that in mind, I began to look at the New Testament ideas of the angelic world, looking for ‘some way out’ of our universe, and looked for the possibility that UFOs did not come from our universe, but rather from another dimension.”

These ideas are a large part of chapter five of the first book. Downing’s optimistic search for a dimension that is truly eternal was met by the typical scorn his work receives from mainstream Christianity.

“The Christianity Today review of my book,” Downing writes, “was predictably negative about Chapter Five. ‘Space does not permit a complete account of the scientific distortions contained in the book. In the preface, Downing states that he is not an authority on Einstein or on heaven. This does not deter him, however, from devoting a chapter to the question, “Where Is Heaven?” He admits that his discussion reads very much like science fiction and is not necessarily true, but it may, he says, “help to set our minds free from the somewhat depressing agnosticism we now find ourselves in when we even begin to entertain the idea that we might live eternally – as part of God’s plan.” He then proceeds, with complete abandon, to do violence to both Einstein and heaven with over 20 pages of pure speculation.’”

[The review, which was published in the June 21, 1968, issue of Christianity Today, was written by Albert L. Hedrich and entitled “Flying Saucers in the Bible?”]

Barry Downing ufo and sthree wise men

Was the Star of Bethlehem a possible UFO that led the Wise Men to Jesus’s birth place?

In that same section of “Biblical UFO Revelations,” Downing summarizes the liberal and conservative objections to his work.

“Liberals do not want me to take stories like the parting of the Red Sea literally,” Downing writes, “they want it to be poetry, mythology. They want to keep science out of the Bible. Religion is not about reality. It is about something that we make up in our heads, much like music and poetry. Religion may have a beauty about it, it may represent human psychological longings, but it has nothing to do with the physical world.

“The issue with conservatives is quite different,” he goes on. “It has been around 50 years since the publication of my book and I still can’t understand the conservative attack on my work. The conservative Christian mentality seems to be this: the church is a fort, the fort protects the basic treasure we have, which is the gospel, and the task of Christians is to attack all enemies who are trying to destroy the fort. They might be atheists (or other non-Christian religions, New Age mysticism, etc.) or they might be false prophets, or, as Gary Bates says of me, ‘former believers who have fallen away.’ Within this assumption, everyone has to be tested to see if he or she is a true believer or an enemy.”

Downing says it is obvious that the point of view of people like Hedrich is that Downing is the enemy, having done violence to both Einstein and heaven. Downing’s speculation amounts to bombs being dropped on the Christian fort.

“Does Hedrich know where heaven is?” Downing asks. “If he does, he does not tell us in his review. Apparently he thinks it is sinful even to wonder about it. Since when is being full of wonder a sin? Since when is it a sin to believe that ‘with God all things are possible?’” (Matthew 19:26)

The church is not a fort built to defend the gospel, according to Downing. God himself is our fort. We are not called to live in a fort, we are called to live in the wilderness with God, on a journey where we are moving toward the kingdom of God.

“If you hole up in a fort, you will not arrive at the kingdom of heaven,” Downing cautions. “The incarnation of Christ means this journey through the wilderness is so important to God that God became human in Jesus, and lived, and died, on the journey with us. On this trip, we look for signs of buried treasure.” (Matthew 13:44)

THE UFO PHENOMENON AS ‘BURIED TREASURE’

bible flying saucers

UFOs appear in the sky in many religious frescos – they seem to symbolize it as representative of “the others” in our skies.

For around 50 years now, Downing has been pointing at UFOs and saying, “This may be buried treasure hidden for us to find.”

The UFOs are not buried in dirt, of course.

“They’re buried by the greed and lust for power of the military-industrial complex,” he writes, “which decided years ago that UFO truth needed to be kept from us. Our modern Pharaohs are no different from the Pharaoh who challenged the God of Moses. I suspect that many world leaders did not want us to even think about the possibility that the angels of God are not only watching us, but are, on occasion, shutting down our nuclear missile sites.

“And I suspect that for many conservative Christians, defending fortress America and fortress Gospel are so similar, that seeing UFOs as demons, rather than angels, enemies of both America’s military power, and enemies of the Gospel, was a very natural way to interpret the UFO mystery. This is my best understanding of why I am not only the enemy of liberal Protestants, but also conservative Protestants. By and large, it is Roman Catholics who have not demonized me.”

THE ROLE FEAR PLAYS IN THE UFO DRAMA

When I interviewed Downing by email for an introduction to “Biblical UFO Revelations,” I asked him about how fear often plays a major role in the UFO drama, especially in terms of the alien abduction experience.

“We are inclined to think fear is a bad thing,” he replied, “and in a sense it is. If God in His essence is love, then ‘There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.’ (1 John 4:18) At the same time, we are called, according to Paul, ‘to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.’ (Philippians 2:12) The biblical view is, the closer we come to knowing God’s love, the less we will fear. Nevertheless, inclined as we are to sin, to pride, to jealousy, we need to live our lives in fear and trembling, aware that we are never more than a bad thought away from offending God and hurting the divine love bond.

“Fear is very much a dimension of our modern UFO story,” he continued. “One reason for governments of the world keeping UFO information secret is that release of the information would lead to panic, the stock market would crash, the world economy would be destroyed.”

Downing also offered an interesting analogy.

“If a stranger walks into my house and points a gun at me, fear will be my response, and it is a very appropriate response. I may die if I do not fear the intruder; I may die even if I do fear the intruder. But fear in this situation gives me a survival edge, a better chance of not being killed. I will treat the stranger with the gun with respect. The basic idea of God is that He is the one with the gun. He has the power to take our life, or save it, even to raise us from the dead. So fear of God as a sign of respect is an appropriate response.”

flying saucers bible jesus ufo

Downing even theorizes that Jesus could have been taken off the planet in a “spaceship” following his having risen from the dead.

When the angels appeared to the shepherds in the fields, Downing said, fear was the understandable response of the shepherds. “The angel said to the shepherds, ‘Be not afraid, for behold, I bring you news of great joy.’ (Luke 2:10) Fear of angels when they appear is a frequent response reported in the Bible. An angel of God descended from the sky and rolled back the tomb where Jesus was buried. ‘And for fear of him, the guards trembled and became like dead men.’ (Matthew 28:4)

“Whenever we meet a strange power greater than ourselves, fear is a natural response. It is a frequent response for by those who have a UFO encounter, or have an abduction experience, or have a bedroom visitation from an alien. Fear of aliens is no more proof they are evil than fear of angels proves THEY are evil.”

Downing also commented on the abduction experiences of Betty Andreasson Luca and Whitley Strieber, calling their stories “mini forms of disclosure.”

“They are not disclosure at a political level,” Downing said, “that is, landing on the White House lawn and saying ‘Take me to your leader.’ But modern UFO abductions are a limited form of disclosure, examples of what I call ‘targeted intervention.’ The Second Coming of Christ, according to Christian hope, would be a form of an angelic army invasion. At the same time, the biblical story of the angel at the tomb of Jesus, or the conversion of the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus, represent forms of ‘targeted intervention.’

“The story of the Jewish Exodus from Egypt seems to be something like a major invasion,” he continued, “but the ‘pillar of cloud and fire’ keeps its distance from both Pharaoh and the Jewish people. And the Jewish story has spiritual and moral power in human culture to this day – proof that targeted intervention can have consequences for human culture for thousands of years.

“The work of the pillar of cloud and fire during the Exodus should make us aware that, even if modern UFOs are working for our good, they represent a power of judgment over us such that ‘fear and trembling’ may be a very wise response to the UFO presence.”

KNIGHTS TEMPLAR TREASURE AND THE UFO/PARANORMAL CONNECTION

By Sean Casteel

*** Sometimes it seems like the “U” in “UFO” should stand for “ubiquitous,” meaning they can show up anywhere and anytime. They make frequent appearances in our time, but their presence is also undeniably spread across the sweep of human history – including among the Knights Templar. The medieval chivalric group’s many mysteries remain nearly as hidden as that of the flying saucer occupants, ultra-terrestrials who may have guided the Templars to their wealth and also stood guard over it down through the centuries.

*** Is there such a thing as uncountable, unknowable wealth? Does our concept of what it means to be rich simply collapse when talking about the medieval warrior-monks called the Knights Templar?

*** The Knights Templar enjoyed the blessings of the popes and European monarchs of their time – at least until they were accused of spitting on crucifixes and sacrificing babies to demons. Was it Satan who granted them their great wealth, as some of their critics claimed?

*** There is some evidence to indicate that the Knights Templar crossed the Atlantic Ocean and reached North America many years before Christopher Columbus. Oak Island in Nova Scotia is alleged to be where they buried some portion of their incalculable treasures. Will modern technology ever break through the many booby-traps and snares the Templars left behind to guard their trove on that spit of land in Canada?

******

The hidden treasures of the Knights Templar cannot be estimated in terms that are realistic or that we could readily understand. Today, we speak in terms of the Rockefeller Dynasty, the Rothschild banking family, Goldman Sachs, the Clinton Foundation . . . but, even if you merged all the vast wealth of these and many more conglomerates, you would get nowhere near the vast fortune of the Knights Templar.

Not only are we talking about tons of gold and silver and kingly jewels, but unimaginable treasures, such as the Holy Grail as well as the Ark of the Covenant. The Templars also organized the first banking system and many of their depositors were fabulously wealthy beyond one’s wildest dreams. They put their monetary weight behind kings, queens, and assorted nobility. They are also known to have sacked Greece and Rome of vast fortunes.Templar Treasure front cover (1)

The newly released book from Timothy Green Beckley’s Inner Light-Global Communications, “Hidden Treasures of the Knights Templar: Secrets of Rennes-les-Chateau, Rosslyn Chapel, Oak Island and the Masonic Order” examines many questions concerning the whereabouts of their unique treasure trove and how it found its way to the New World long before Columbus or other explorers had set sail.

The new “Hidden Treasures” book is, like most books from Inner Light-Global Communications, very much a group effort. Beckley and I contributed chapters along with Scotsman Brian Allan, who has done hands-on research into the legendary Rosslyn Chapel in his native country for many years.

Author and television producer Rene Barnett writes about her visits to another house of worship with a mystical reputation, the Rennes-le-Chateau church in southwest France. Sometime in the late 1800s, the parish priest there became “inexplicably and suddenly wealthy” and set about making expensive improvements to the church. Was he the lucky finder of Templar treasure?

Hercules Invictus is a scholar of Greek mythology who goes by the adopted name of one of the great Olympian heroes. For the book, he takes on the Herculean task of connecting the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (commonly known for saying “God is dead), the Holy Grail and the long tradition of heroism that includes the Knights Templar.

WHO WERE THESE FABULOUSLY WEALTHY KNIGHTS?

circle-power-2952980 knights templar

The Templars were revered by some, despised by others. Politics hasn’t changed much in the centuries since.

The Knights Templar are one of those historical mysteries that has kept historians, conspiracy theorists and religious adepts looking for answers down through the many centuries since the order was allegedly dissolved by an angry pope.

In a book called “Knights Templar Encyclopedia,” by Karen Ralls, Ph.D., one reads that, “The Knights Templar – the famed ‘warrior monks’ of the late Middle Ages – still resonate in our memory today, some 700 years after their sudden arrests on Friday, October 13, 1307. Arguably the largest and most influential organization the medieval Western world had ever known, the Order of the Temple (1119-1312) was the first military-religious Order of the Western Church, a ‘new knighthood.’ Its members were not only powerful monastic warriors, but also international banking experts, agricultural land owners and developers, seasoned diplomats, businessmen, advisors to popes and kings, guardians of assets, ship owners and much more.”

But Ralls also laments the fact that “there is so much conflicting information available today” and that what we do know has been partially lost to history in the aftermath of the destruction in 1571 of the Templar archive when the Turks attacked Cyprus.

“This devastating loss to scholars,” Ralls writes, “has left a gap in history, which has often led to much speculation.”

Nevertheless, enough information has survived to give us a general idea of what the Knights Templar were all about – their origin, mission and later downfall.

THE EARLY BEGINNINGS OF THE TEMPLARS

cdca30e27808242a7c17347d4c7046a6--the-holy-land-knights-templarAs bestselling paranormal authors Brad and Sherry Steiger explain, in their book “Conspiracies and Secret Societies,” the Knights Templar were part of a longer tradition of “religious-chivalric” orders, being preceded by the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem, who later became the Knights of Malta. The combination of monasticism with military chivalry permitted the vow of religion and the vow of war to be united in a single effort – to free the Holy Land from the Muslims.

Two French knights, Hugues de Payens and Geoffrey of Saint-Omer, “had observed the hardships endured by Christian pilgrims en route to Jerusalem and decided to serve as guides and protectors for the defenseless travelers.”

The two Frenchmen had only one horse between them, but soon gained some notoriety for their service to helpless wayfarers, which inspired seven other nights to join them. The group was then known as the “Poor Soldiers of the Holy City,” having bound themselves to the traditional vows of obedience, chastity and poverty. They added oaths to defend the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and to protect the pilgrims who journeyed there.

“Baldwin I, King of Jerusalem, granted the humble knights quarters on the site of Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem,” the Steigers write, “and it was because of this location that they became known as the Knights of the Temple of Solomon and later as the Knights Templar or the Knights of the Red Cross. According to tradition, it was also amidst the ruins of Solomon’s Temple that the knights uncovered the holy relics that would transform their order of poverty and humility into one of the wealthiest and most powerful organizations in Europe.”

THE DECAPITATED JESUS SPEAKS

It is claimed that the Templars, while being sheltered in Jerusalem, unearthed the Holy Grail of the Last Supper along with ancient documents proving that, prior to the crucifixion,   Jesus and Mary Magdalene were husband and wife.

Even stranger is this story: the Templars excavated an underground chamber that contained the head of Jesus. According to legend, because of the virtue and bravery of the Templars in defending Christian pilgrims, the head spoke and prophesied to them. There are differing versions of this “severed head” legend; some claim that the Templars spoke to the head of John the Baptist, who was in fact beheaded by King Herod in the Gospel narrative.

venaria_templecombe

According to legend, because of the virtue and bravery of the Templars in defending Christian pilgrims, the head of Jesus spoke and prophesied to them.

The Templars eventually achieved a wealth and overall power that had come to rival that of the current monarch, King Philip of France, who greedily maneuvered to take their riches for himself. The king sought the help of Pope Clement V, who was reluctant at first to move against the Templars. The Knights had been under the wing of papal blessings for a long time.

But charges against the Templars were made. They were accused by the mysterious Esquire de Floyran, who claimed to have been a member, of having degenerated into a monstrous blood cult who worshiped the three-headed demon of a heretical Muslim sect.

“De Floyran swore that he had seen initiates in the order spitting upon crucifixes,” the Steigers write, “participating in vile rites, even sacrificing babies to demons.”

Clement bowed to pressure and gave his approval for a judicial inquiry, and the knights were charged with heresy and immorality. In 1307, 900 knights were arrested and their properties and holdings seized. The prosecution was often forced to use torture to obtain confessions. The grand master of the Templars, Jacques de Molay, pleaded the innocence of the order against all charges but was nevertheless tortured, along with 140 other knights, by the rack, the thumbscrew, the pincers, the branding iron and fire. Thirty-six died under torture without speaking while the remainder confessed to every charge leveled against them.

As the Steigers report: “In 1314, as he was being burned to death on a scaffold erected for the occasion in front of Notre Dame, Jacques de Molay recanted the confession he had given under torture and proclaimed his innocence to Pope Clement V and King Philip – and he invited them to meet him at heaven’s gate. When both dignitaries died soon after de Molay’s execution, it seemed to the public at large that the grand master and the Knights Templar had been innocent of the charges of heresy.”

Meanwhile, in todays’ “politically correct” climate, the Templars are still sometimes demonized for:

*** The death and destruction they caused in the Crusades.

*** Supposedly occult or pagan rituals (based on hearsay from anti-Templar material promulgated by the Catholic Church as it sought to bring the Templars “to heel,” fearing that their power and the respect in which they were held by the populace would ultimately bring down the papacy.)

*** Confessions made by Templars, given while being tortured, or the later “revealed” confessions made public by the Inquisition.

*** The complete and total disappearance without a trace of the medieval organization, which fuels speculation and conspiracy theories, still rampant some 700 years later, that assume the organization had a huge membership, unlike the reality of barely a couple of hundred.

ROSSLYN CHAPEL AND THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR

When studying subjects like UFOs and occult phenomena, one tends to continually rediscover the interrelatedness of things. For instance, a modern gray alien is closely related to ancient descriptions of both angels and demons, and all three types of those paranormal entities often spill over into encounters with ghosts and other manifestations of communication from the departed. Some researchers, like Raymond Fowler and Dr. Kenneth Ring, make a definite connection between alien abduction and Near-Death-Experiences, arguing that the same otherworldly beings are present in both kinds of encounters and represent contact with creatures that exert a hopefully benevolent power over our very souls.

So it is with sacred sites as well. Some locations on this planet seem to radiate a kind of energy that transcends the limits of space and time and opens doorways for discerning mortals to step through into planes of existence that vibrate at a much higher frequency than everyday life on this planet allows for. It’s similar to that familiar catchphrase from real estate: Location, location, location.

rosslyn chapel public domain

Rosslyn Chapel is a majestic sight after all these years, attracting tourists from all over the world who come in search of religious truth.

In this instance, we take up the study of Rosslyn Chapel, located in the Midlothia section of Scotland. Longtime paranormal researcher Brian J. Allan, in his book “Rosslyn Chapel: Occult Secrets and Esoteric Treasures Revealed,” published by Global Communications, offers his conclusions after many years of inquiry. If ever a particular place on Earth served as a “hot contact” with the strange, Rosslyn Chapel should certainly qualify.

“Over the years, especially in recent times” Allan writes, “much as been written about this small, ornate, 15th century place of worship, some of it justified and some not. It has been described as various things, e.g. a place of piety and worship, the retro-choir of a cathedral that was never built, a spiritual machine of sorts, the hiding placed of a dimensional portal, a stone library of Masonic secrets and also an enduring tribute to the iconic warrior monks, The Knights Templar. There is some legitimacy to all these claims, even the dimensional portal aspect, because the means to unlock this strange artefact (a set of frequencies) are also said to be displayed in the stonework, almost literally hidden in plain sight.

Brian J Allan Headshot Web

An expert on the Rosslyn Chapel, Brian Allan is also the editor of the online “Phenomena Magazine.”

“Unfortunately,” he continues, “the guides who take parties of visitors round the building pointing out its many unique features are unlikely to mention this, simply because it is not in their frame of reference. Why? Because besides risking ridicule from mainstream media, the implications of this revelation are staggering and might even start to unpick the legitimacy of the religion the Chapel apparently venerates. It is easier to take one of the other, perhaps more acceptable connections associated with the building, and that is the claimed link of the Sinclair family with the Knights Templar, although even this has been disputed. The link came about through the political and religious affiliations of Sir William Sinclair, who paid for the construction of the building, which was originally called the Collegiate Church of St Matthew,

“The Sinclair family were assumed to have had strong links with the Templars,” Allan goes on, “and built the chapel, not as a place of worship, but to honor them and their cause. There is certainly a considerable amount of Templar and other mystical imagery carved into the decoration. In fact, it is claimed that the Chapel vaults contain, along with the Ark of the Covenant, the treasures of the Temple of Solomon that were taken by the Templars during their time in the Holy Lands. However, none of this is proven. That said, there is little doubt that the chapel has powerful resonances with Templar traditions. It has also been claimed that, rather than the Knights Templar, the Sinclair’s connection originated in the possibility that they helped found Scottish Freemasonry and the Templar orders associated with that. Whatever the truth, it can never be denied that this beautiful building will continue to hide its secrets from the profane, which was probably the original intention.”

THE GHOST AND FLYING SAUCER CONNECTION

In what has become his persistent theme, publisher and author Timothy Green Beckley continues to argue for a paradigm of the paranormal that brings everything together into a cohesive whole.

“Somewhere along the twisting path of the paranormal,” Beckley writes, “I discovered that UFOs and ghosts seemed to be attracted to buried treasure – either to guard it or lead to its discovery. Both phenomena have supposedly led prospectors directly to the proverbial ‘motherlode,’ or hovered so damn near it as to be beyond mere coincidence. I guess you could say they functioned as a sort of sign as to where to dig or dive – if the ultimate prize is underwater. Other times you better get your pistol or pick axe ready to protect yourself from the walking dead, though, come to think of it, neither instrument can wound or kill something that has already turned to dust. So it’s better to hope you’re light on your feet and can hightail it a safe distance away.

“I have no statistics on any of these paranormal declamations,” he continues, “but I’ve heard an assortment of rumors. Now, in the case of UFOs, we’re not talking about spaceships with humanoid pilots on board, but more likely ornery spook or ghost lights that seem to be under ‘intelligent control’ but not piloted by ‘aliens’ as we’ve come to imagine them – at least that is what I would assume.

“Though I must say that one scribe pointed out to me that if the ancient astronauts known as the Anunnaki were really coming here from Planet X thousands of years ago to create human slaves in order to mine for gold, perhaps they are still searching for this valuable substance – or perchance the slaves themselves are returning from the realm of spirits to haunt these particular locales as a form of retribution to their slave owners. It’s all assuredly conjuncture. Pure speculation. But something uncommonly bizarre does seem to be going on that connects some lost treasures with the eerie sector of the phantasmal.”

UFOS, GHOSTS AND THE DREADED CURSE OF OAK ISLAND – WHAT ROLE DID THE TEMPLARS PLAY?

Shag Harbour UFO INCIDENT oak island

Oak Island is located between Nova Scotia’s UFO hot spots, Peggy’s Cove and Shag Harbour. But is there really a connection?

As is true of most paranormal researchers, years of study have left Beckley with far more questions than answers. For example, he asks, “Is it possible the Knights Templar buried their vast treasures and Biblical memorabilia, including the Holy Grail, in the swampy waters of Oak Island? Has that legendary hoard been kept hidden by an underground series of booby traps that prevents anyone from getting near the treasure?”

Beckley also seeks answers to these Oak Island-related questions: Did the lights of low-hanging flying saucers lead a teenage boy to the possible location of one of the world’s richest buried treasure troves over two hundreds ago? And are apparitions of one type or another “camping out” to make sure no one is successful in finding whatever is buried on this isolated, windswept locale? And, furthermore, did this same supernatural force at play here put a curse on that treasure that has doomed so many seekers after its hidden hoard?

“Oak Island,” Beckley writes, “is a 140-acre tree-covered spit of an island on the south shore of Nova Scotia, Canada, one of over 350 islands in Mahone Bay. Rising to a height of only 36 feet above sea level, it is situated 660 feet from shore and connected to the mainland by a modern causeway. It is currently privately owned, though several teams of treasure hunters make their home there, trying to figure out ingenious ways to get to the source of all this drama, which has become known as North America’s most infamous treasure trove.

Knights Templar explorer Henry Sinclair

Explorer and seafarer Henry Sinclair: Did he make it to the New World long before Columbus and the Vikings?

“Some say it’s a conventional swashbuckler’s horde,” Beckley recounts. “Others insist the Knights Templar sailed the mighty seas to bury the likes of gold crosses, spectacular jewels, and perhaps even the Holy Grail and/or the mighty Ark of the Covenant. And if that isn’t enough to blow your ever-loving treasure-hunting mind, some proclaim that Shakespeare’s ‘lost sonnets’ could be sealed in a vault deep underground.

[Of course, in this account, Shakespeare isn’t really Shakespeare but the likes of Francis Bacon, First Viscount of Saint Alban, who was an English philosopher, statesman, scientist, jurist, orator, essayist and author. He served both as Attorney General and Lord Chancellor of England. And since the Bard was really illiterate and could only just about sign his name, someone else had to be responsible for his penmanship.  But that’s another story, one which we have covered previously in our published tract by Sean Casteel, called “Shakespeare’s Confidential Dossier: To Be Or Not To Be?”]

“Regardless of what is buried on Oak Island,” Beckley adds, “it has to be more valuable than the Queen’s Jewels as no one in their right bloody mind would go to the extreme efforts that were made to render the treasure inaccessible by an elaborate series of booby traps that have kept the treasure out of the hands of dozens and dozens of treasure seekers and killed a half dozen individuals in the process.”

Knights templar cross carving on stone_

Templar cross embedded in stone on Oak Island. What is it doing there if the Templars didn’t bury their vast treasure in the infamous “Money Pit”?

But what exactly is the story behind the curse of Oak Island?

“It all started one dark night way back in 1795 when a teenage boy named Daniel McGinnis witnessed ethereal nocturnal lights winding their way amongst the trees on a little island across the water from his family’s home in Nova Scotia. His interest aroused, he rowed out to the island the next day to try to figure out the source of the lights,” says a posting on “The Witching Hour” website.

McGinnis most likely never found out the mystery of what we might today identify as “spook lights” or “ghost lights,” but he did find a circular impression in the ground about a dozen feet across. One’s first thought is that the circular impression might have been the familiar landing traces sometimes left behind by a UFO, but the mystery is a little different here.

It was generally known that pirates in the 1600s often chose the scantily populated shores of eastern Canada to hide their illicit treasures. With that idea in mind, McGinnis and some friends began to dig on Oak Island, becoming the first people seduced by the location’s lure of gold and whatever other riches might lie beneath their feet.

History channel Curse of Oak Island

The mystery of Oak Island and its Templar connection has been promoted on the History Channel’s ongoing series, “The Curse of Oak Island.”

But was the fabled hidden hoard really left behind by the Knights Templar, who deposited incalculable wealth at the bottom of a sophisticated, multiple booby-trapped hiding place that even our modern technology has still never managed to penetrate in order to get to the actual loot? Beckley is quite the fan of the History Channel’s long-running program “Curse of Oak Island,” and he awaits the answer to the mystery along with his fellow viewers.

And if the truth they uncover leads us all back to the Knights Templar and their slippery path through human history, we shouldn’t be too surprised.
